And why does this file keep !@#$ing up the folder it's in with script errors?

Media Player Classic has built in support.

If you choose to use a different player, you can just download the directshow filter: http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm

I've had several problems with The Core Media Player and now it won't even open. Media Player Classic is the better way to go. (I personally use BSPlayer)

Yea, MPC is fine and runs with the least hassle of all.

I've had some strangeness related to MPC's audio drivers (it seems it plays stuff somewhat differently, and I'm under suspicion it automatically normalizes volume levels, thus killing some intentionally-louder parts and amplifying noise/static in quiet one), but I generally found it quite alright...

It does! It's completely evil!! It completely destorys some of my favourite videos. I don't understand who in the MPC development group thought this would be a good idea to make it default :x

To fix it goto Options -> Filters, and then turn off the built in MPEG Audio Decoder. You'll need to restart MPC for the change to occur.

Ahh, alright then. I was wondering about that - it sounds pretty good in general, but in a couple of my own recent videos (which I've tested in a number of players) it brings out a lot of unneccesary background noise that's pretty much inaudible on anything else, esp. in the beginnings where there's no other sounds there.

Divx Player 2.1 doesn't seem to have a problem with them. I just had to download Vobsub, SubtitDS, and OggDS first. And odes anyone know if there's way to convert them into a form Premiere can use.

Sorry about that, my brain's spell check was turned off.

Run then through VDub and demux the video stream, leaving behind the subtitles.
