Anime Music In Amvs?
I was just curious as to what are you all's veiw on using music from an anime and then making a video with it.I realize this sounds kind of vague so i will provide a few examples of whati mean.
1.Say someone used the Kenshin ending theme "Heart of Sword" to make a Kenshin video.
2.Say someone used the Kenshin ending theme "Heart of Sword" to make a Cowboy bebop video.
These examples seem similar but for me warrant completely different responses.
I am just curious as to how many people don't care and how many people just see the song used and say "This creator was stupid for doing that".

I personally don't like to use anime music in AMVs, it feels like I'm not bringing enough new to the video. Unexpected anime/song combinations are what make AMVs interesting to me. Using a Kenshin OST song for a Kenshin video sounds like a boring idea: those images have been combined with the pictures already.
Using one anime's music with another show often works well though. Good examples are Hakura's Blue Flow and MistyCaldwell's Time's Medley.

Also, with me, even though I'm a Jpop fan and all that, I have no interest in seeing videos made to it. I'll only watch it if it has a very solid concept (like Tainted Donuts did).

I love to do character profiles/tributes using songs sung by the characters themselves - but only if the combination hasn't been done before (like in an opening or closing sequence in the anime). It just completes the experience to have a video that combines my favorite character (visual), his voice (audio), and the lyrics telling his story (combination/theme). The only drawback would be that others may not like it. But that's their choice.
