Most difficult project to edit?
This is opinions only, I'm expecting some flames but hey, it's part of being a damn human...
Everyone who has seen/edited an amv probably has an idea of what the hardest thing you can edit can be...
What do you think is the "toughest" amv one can edit? Is it the footage used? The effects? The theme?
I'd say, the toughest amv one can edit tries to encompass LOTS of things that are contradictory...
i.e. can one edit a Serious Comedy anime music video?
or perhaps a Serious Romance Action video?
Things that "shouldn't" be in an amv that "fit...."
your thoughts ^_^

I've done a number of these, but it depends on whether you mean 'can one edit well' a vid for that mixed genre. ^.~OmniStrata wrote:i.e. can one edit a Serious Comedy anime music video?

But I'd agree with the serious comedy - if it's one, then that eliminates the other. The only way to achieve this is to either have a vid where some people think it's serious and others find it funny - or to have sections of both in the same video and merge them together so it changes seamlessly.
As for horror/comedy - I haven't seen much of this in amvs, but it's common in movies and fiction. It's the macabre - make it dark and disturbing, and then make the viewer laugh. The person will be even more disturbed by the fact that he laughed at something he should have been disgusted by. If I had dark anime, I'd love to tackle this genre - I think it would be very hard to pull off if you're trying to be smooth and tasteful about it.

As for me, action/drama is second nature to me. I can do that no problem. When it comes to comedy or big time effects, I'd be lost. I'm now venturing for artistic, so we'll see how this turns out. ^_^

how can it be funny when people are getting ripped open (worst part is alot of people do think its funny)
- "Fist of the North Star" to "What A Wonderful World"
- "Pain and Suffering Anime" to Hanson's "MMMBop" (HMTV)
