Getting involved

Yeah... I'm starting to think maybe I should get involved and come out of my turtle shell a little bit. I've never been a big participant in the AMV community, particularly here at the org. I hang out with all my AMV buddies at AWA every year, and that's as far as it goes.

But then I come on here randomly to check what's up, and I see so much stuff going on that I'm not involved in, like the VCA Awards (now with pretty swank prizes!) that I totally didn't get involved in or get my 2006 videos online in time for, and like the AMV Hell Multi-Editor project stuff... I always thought that was done by just one studio.

Eh. Anyway... thinking now. And my thought is, I oughta hang out here a bit more. So, yeah, I guess expect to see me around a bit.

Hey Lostboy, glad to see you around.

The main reason the people commented the way they did was because the org <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=289">Forum Rules</a> say there shouldn't be any off topic or introduction threads. I'm glad that you would like to participate in the discussions here. I hope to see more of your work in the future.

(I absolutely love Rhythm Animation, Video Girl Ai: The Fall, and Nemutai Yatsura. Those of you that have not seen these videos by Lostboy should do yourself a treat and get them.)

Please don't take offense that I lock this post. I hope to see you post around here more.

It's not that friendly discussion is wrong. It's more like a personal announcement on your part, which doesn't really belong on the forums since it doesn't affect anyone but you. It's similar to an introduction thread, and since those aren't allowed either, that's where the guys who posted are coming from. Of course, they could afford to be a little nicer about it, but that's just the way some people are on the internet.

Anyway, welcome back, good to see you again (and yes, your username is vaguely familiar to me), but don't be surprised when this gets locked.
