Holy crap, that was Steve Ballmer's voice?

By the way, thanks for reminding me to download Domopers again.

What do you watch anime for? Waky highschool hijinks?
Are you being serious? Not everyone on this godforsaken earth has to love it. I haven't seen it so I can't say either way. I'm going to borrow it from a club member and once I watch it I'll decide. If, by chance I don't like it, then oh freaking well! I am an otaku/anime fan/whatever, but just because someone doesn't like one particular anime...

I don't recall ever calling myself that.....
So why are you here?

Agreed.

Now about what the actual thread was about. I've seen A LOT of Sailor Moon videos and they all use the same scenes over and over and over again. It really gets annoying. 200 episodes and 3 movies and and 18 volume manga with a little live action and musicals thrown in and they have to use the same clips over and over again. Creativity is a good thing...and so is being unique.

I think what he's saying here is something equatable to this: Akira is widely considered to be one of the best anime of all time. Disliking it puts you ihn a severe minority, similar to, say... a fan of 60s and 70s rock who doesn't like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, or Led Zepplin. It just doesn't happen in most cases.

That's what I got out of it, anyway. I haven't seen Akira, so I really can't say anything to defend it, but everyone I know who's seen it has highly recommended it.

Did I say that I wasn't an anime fan? No. I said that I've never called myself that. I have never outright said "I am an anime fan." :P That is what I meant by it.

That is why I'm going to borrow it. But I don't care what anybody thinks, just because I haven't seen this one particular anime that may have revolutionized anime doesn't put me in a minority. Who said Akira is considered one of the best anime of all time? Who decides that? And just because one is a fan of 60s and 70's doesn't mean they have to like the above mentioned artists. Even if I watch Akira and it is one of the best anime ever it still won't change my opinion. Just about everything on theamv.org board is all a matter of opinion anyway.
