Q: How does the site define "artistic", or is it rely wholly on the creator? What you should NOT upload from A-M-V.org wrote: Pornographic videos. Videos explicitly depicting sexual acts are totally forbidden. Uploading porn will result in an immediate ban. Nudity is permitted provided it either has an artistic function in the video or is not depicted in an overtly erotic context.

someone taking a shower with an exposed butt while the girl is crying in the shower because she just broke up with someone, thats ok. The nudity is not there to be hentai. at least thats my take on it. On the other hand, a sex scene is probably ok if you don't explicitly show the nudity. (such as the Kare Kano scene) the way I see it is think of how the video would be rated if the same scene was in a video released for the theaters. If it breaches R rated for sex, nudity, or violence, then it shouldn't be uploaded.Eek-1 wrote:Q: How does the site define "artistic", or is it rely wholly on the creator? What you should NOT upload from A-M-V.org wrote: Pornographic videos. Personally I think the perfect blue scene is an example of something that proabbly shouldn't be allowed, but if its not shown in a way that kids will probably not recognize what it is, then its probably ok (such as in Godix's video)
typically though, it all goes back to the mods making the final call on it.

I don't know about anyone else but I've always defined 'artistic nudity' as nudity is used in a way that the majority of people wouldn't find erotic.Eek-1 wrote:Q: How does the site define "artistic", or is it rely wholly on the creator?
For example Perfect Blue, probably one of the most known and used rape scenes, uses nudity artistically. The rape scene focuses primarily on the violence and disturbed nature of the attacker while the psuedo-rape scene is focused mainly on Mimi's declining mental state and just to be sure the director actually brings the action to a dead stop halfway through as a kind of cold shower to the audience. Both scenes involve nudity and sex although neither scene was sexy and most people wouldn't get turned on by them (if someone reading this is an expection then, please, keep it to yourself. I don't wanna know about it).
I do agree with Bakadeshi to some degree though. No matter how you do it the nudity scenes in Perfect Blue probably aren't something kids should see. In some ways focusing on the violence and mental trauma make it even worse for kids than if it were a simple hentai video. I think the org has room for videos dealing with adult themes that are deeper than 'Hey look at the tits on that one!' but if I end up being told my video is not ok for local I can easily understand why.

Godix, though wouldnt that scene fall under "exsessive violence" at the least?
hmmn.... I understand your deffinitions though, and i respect that...
Truthfully I never thought about this subject... I just dont use too many nude/sex scenes or even over violent scenes in my AMVs
I think dropping a line to the Mods is the best... but many have told you about that. so its beating an already dead beaten horse...

Not by any definition of 'excessive violence' I've seen on the org. Perfect Blue has no disemboweling, beheading, or graphic depictions of body parts that are normally on the insides. I guess the thought process is that in anime it's common to see people capable of destroying entire planets so a stabbing or two is nothing in comparison.JaddziaDax wrote:Godix, though wouldnt that scene fall under "exsessive violence" at the least?

not saying that the scene should never be used... or it should be banned...
I would just rate it X or atleast a good hard NC17 or R and
not really PG13 like they try to insinuate that we should upload around here....
but such is life... everything is in a grey area!
lol.
