Do me a favor, never let me leave an opinion for one of your videos.
Oh I'll get right on that.
I don't know anyone who's *afraid* to give 9s or 10s - I give them if I think the vid deserves those scores.
Well, good for you then.
That's how most people score videos, by what they think the video deserves, not what the creator thinks it deserves.
Most people score videos based on what I said earlier, either they just think it's uber awesome without thinking or they tend to over analyze or misjudge things. And it's not even about what the creator thinks it deserves, it's about what the video itself deserves. I mean if you make a video that's purpose is to be a non stop action packed thrill ride and then some uber stupid comes along, over analyzes it, thinks of it as if it was THIER video and then says something incredibly dumb like, "Oh well I thought there was too much action in it." o_O
It's like, um, hello, McFly, it's not about how you thought the video SHOULD have been made, you're supposed to be scoring on the video AS IT IS, in it's own form, not what you THINK it SHOULD have been. To me that's the number one problem when people score AMVs, they treat the video as if it was their video, rather than the video of the person who made it. And yes, some people strangely enough make a video whose sole purpose is just to be all action, or all drama, etc, etc.
It's almost like some people are saying, oh I'm giving this video a lower score because it's not the video that I want it to be.
That's the way opinons are usually done around here. No one goes around correcting those who score incorrectly
On the contrary, people do quite often. That is why you can respond to the opinionators you know. Every opinion you get, you get as much white space as you like to comment right back.
- it isn't a test score, or a set rating that will be equal no matter who gives it.
Which is why I said for most part it's all just bullshit.
What would be the point in getting opinions if they were all exactly the same?
See that's usually why I stop actively seeking opinions after about 5 or so, after 5 good, thought out opinions, it doesn't really need much else.
They're called opinions ('Opinion Exchange,' 'All Opinions,' 'More Opinion Info,' 'Submit Opinion') because that's what they are.
Scoring is a part of the opinions section, Dear. The trick is to not confuse scoring opinions with personal opinions. Too many people judge AMVs and what they think it SHOULD have been, rather than on what it IS. If you download an AMV and it's not the AMV you think it should be, guess what, you've downloaded the wrong one.
