paypal donation bug?

I noticed this the last time I donated, too.

When you make a pledge, you get an option to "pay now via paypal" that takes you to this page:

And it has a link that opens paypal. And it has a warning that you have to 'click through paypal' and 'return to amvorg' for it to register automatically. My problem is, when I click the link it opens paypal and I have to log in. Then I'm on my account page and none of the amvorg information is loaded. I have to go back to amv org, get the paypal credit card email, the amount I pledged, and *then* send it out. No option to return to the site so it's automatically registered.

Is it supposed to load the donation information when it loads the paypal page? I've tried logging in to paypal before I use the 'Pay now' link but it just makes me log in again - no information loaded for the site or the donation.

It's not a huge problem since my donations have always been recorded within a day or two. I just want to know if I'm doing something wrong, or if that "pay now" link takes you to Paypal without loading any of the donation/pledge information. If it doesn't load anything, you might want to get rid of those "be sure to click through back to amvorg" warnings. Everytime I use paypal it makes me think my donation won't go through because I did something wrong.

I've never had to copy or paste anything, it's always just gone through for me. I'd say it's most likely an issue with your browser settings.

That's what I was afraid of. Do you use Opera or Firefox or some nonIE browser?

Firefox. It works great for me, and the site's kinda designed for it.

This is happening to me too.

I could swear it went through fine before, but now clicking the button just takes me to paypal's main page.

I don't know how to get the donation through because I don't know AMV's info with paypal.

Um. Help?

I guess your best option would be to download firefox, install it, and click the button using that - should go through. You can uninstall firefox when you're done (if you hate the program as much as I do).

Or, if you don't mind waiting a day or two for the donation to be recorded on the org, you can go to your paypal account, click the 'send money' button, and enter amvorg@hotmail.com as the email address, put "amvorg donation" in the title, and your username and usernumber in the information box (always put both your name and the number, just in case). Then send it in.

That's if you're using a credit card. If you're using paypal for a debit the email address is different, it's phadeguy@hotmail.com

Switching to firefox (google search it) will probably be easier if it actually works instantly.

Thanks for the help people! This was one thing that didn't work in Opera 9.0. I don't know if there are people who are responsible for this site are reading this, but maybe it's nice to have that info on that page - it saves some useless e-mails/PM to some people!
