New... and kind of confused
I'm rather new to making videos, (Although I have made a few) and new to this site, so when I went to post my video(s), I was a bit confused by some of the rules, and how they pertain to the videos I was going to upload.
The videos I made technically aren't from an Anime, they're from the Armored Core series of games, and I started them partially from a desire to see AC videos that weren't just the intro-sequences and in-game movies rehashed to different music, so I put some clips of actual gameplay in there.
But then I read the rules about posting the videos, and it said that the video should be anime, and went on to say something about only the cutscenes being anime, but in any case, it mentioned nothing about actual gameplay footage.
What I guess I'm trying to ask is this - is it against the rules to put actual gameplay footage in a video?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, or asked a question already answered. The search didn't yield clear results, and none of the other forums looked like they covered this kind of topic.

Some gameplay clips is certainly OK. Some clips of anything is OK, really.
But the majority of footage should come from the cut scenes in this case.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

If it makes up the minority of the footage, yes. If the video is predominantly gameplay footage, no.Dokusaisha wrote:What I guess I'm trying to ask is this - is it against the rules to put actual gameplay footage in a video?

It doesn't matter any longer if it's cutscenes or gameplay as long as the game fits the site rules for anime:

Hmm...this is a topic that has always been kind of interesting to me, so I'd like to pose a question - and hope it doesn't sound too cryptic. >_>
Here's the deal...I understand that the admins don't want this to become a dumping ground for gameplay-related videos like speed runs and whatnot. However, if you capture nothing but gameplay footage and edited it as a music video, what's the difference? I realize that this is getting pretty specific, but it's just something I'm curious about.
