Non-anime music suggestions

I was thinking of putting this in the Mod's Dropbox, but since they said not to ask questions there, I thought this would be the better location.

Anyway, I wanted to know if it would be okay to ask for music suggestions for a non-anime music video, so long as I don't upload the finished product here. The reason I ask is because some of my fandoms are iffy - meaning, I'm not sure if they are anime, but I would still like to make videos to them. Also, this thread made me curious. Paizuri said that the thread could slide as long as the person abided by the site rules with uploading, so I'm not sure if that is encouragement or discouragement to ask for non-anime music suggestions there.

The fandoms I had in mind were games like Devil May Cry, Silent Hill, and Tomb Raider. I don't think that TR isn't anime, because Eidos is primarily American, as I understand it. Don't quote me to that, though, because I'm honestly not positive. DMC and SH are both Japanese made, but I'm not sure if that makes them a form of anime or not.

So, long story short, what's the deal on asking for non-anime music suggestions? Is it okay, or should I stay away from it?
