Uploaded wrong.... help...

Hey how's it going?

Hmm... how should i say this....

About two weeks ago, i uploaded my very first AMV called 'Speedway'. Anyways, the problem is, i think i uploaded it to the wrong part of the server or something. I checked to see if i could download the video and sure enough i could download something, but at the time i didn't realize that the something was not my video and I confirmed the upload. Now when I go to try to download my video it says that the file is 4 kib and the name of the video is <..> What is going on here? My main question is, can i get the old video deleted (wherever it is) and try uploading it again? (i know how to do it properly now, i finally decided to read the guide) So...... is there anyway to fix this little problem of mine?

Request a 'delete video entry', and explain in the comment box to remove only the local download due to a corrupt file upload. That should suffice for the admins and you can re-upload the correct file.

More like a few minutes.

This forum is pretty active most of the time, but as any other forum, there are 'quiet' times here too, in my experience.

more problems....

I requested that my vidoe be deleted by saying "Please remove only the local download due to a corrupt file upload.", and they said

reason denied

Your local video file has been deleted.
Please upload the new copy as soon as possible.

Anyways, the problem is, when I go to 'Upload Video' it says " All of your videos are already locally available." Now how can all my videos be already available locally if the just said "Your local video file has been deleted..."

Should I just ask them to remove the whole video, information and all and try resubmiting it or something>?

That's odd. Can you make the request again? Maybe someone pressed the wrong button and the file didn't delete.

okay..

I made another deletion request. This time i asked them to remove the whole video from the site so that I could completly repost it again. If that does not work, I was wondering if I could upload the video as a remake. ??? (Since no one has seen the original video anyways).

No, I think there's a bug. I just did the same thing, and it didn't take off the local file.

OK having looked into the problem we now know why it wasn't working.

When you uploaded to the ftp you created a sub-directory. Please do not do this, as it totally confuses the server setup and makes your file inaccessible.

Feel free to add the new entry but ONLY upload into the root directory, do not create a directory on the ftp please.
