Help
Alright Im trying to upload my AMV so people can watch it. I follow the guide and complete all the instructions. I write down the video, ftp server, username, and password like it told me. Then when I type in the ftp address in the address bar it takes me to this one page that says if you can read this your not using ftp! I follow those directions as well then it takes me to another page where it says ftp root in bold and instead of asking me for my username and password like the guide says, i asked for help in the chat room but that didnt work. they made things even mroe confusing. I tried to drag and drop the AMV into the window like they said but it asked me to either save, open, or cancel. When I click save it tries to save it into my file again. And if i click open it just opens it so i can watch it! Cna someone please help me upload my AMV?

Re: Help
Were you the guest in the IRC chat that abruptly left while BadMartialArts was trying to help you?i asked for help in the chat room but that didnt work.
You problaby typed http://nago.animemusicvideos.org on your browsewr URL and got that page message right?it takes me to this one page that says if you can read this your not using ftp!
If you notice the webpage also flashes a huge 馬鹿, which means stupid in japanese.
I find that very hilarious. 8 )
Anyways, if you've readthis guide by Moonslayer, you can see that you can use Windows Explorer to upload videos.
Type: ftp://nago.animemusicvideos.org
rather than http://nago.animemusicvideos.org
and it should work.
I recommend you read the above guide if you haven't yet.
There are also other FTP programs that you can use to upload videos.

Hello
Yes i was the one who left the room but not on purpose, i was disconnected and couldnt get back in. I do have webdrive, SFTPMSI, and cuteftp. There ftp things I guess, but when I do type in ftp://nago.animemusicvideos.org/ I get taken to a page where in big black bold letters it says FTP root at nago.animemusicvideos.org when i was in the room they told me to try dragging my AMV over into the window, i did and it gave me the choice to either open, save, or cancel. Im not sure what im doing wrong, do you know?

I'm a going to lay this out one more time.
When you are trying to upload a video, and you request permission, it'll take you to a screen where it tells you your username and password. Right? Right.
THIS IS AN EXAMPLE:
Host: nago.animemusicvideos.org
Username: mjolnirego
Password: rhubarbseven
Right? Good.
Now, to use these in Explorer. NOT INTERNET EXPLORER IT'S NOT EXACTLY THE SAME. (Sorry for the yelling.) To get into Explorer, you hit the link called "My Computer" not the IE one. Ok. We're there. Now, you may have to turn on your address bar (View Menu, then Toolbars, then Address Bar). Now it kind of looks like Internet Explorer, but it's not. It's still Explorer.
In that bar, type in the following (I'm using my example, you would want to use the username and password that this website gives you).
ftp://mjolnirego:rhubarbseven@nago.animemusicvideos.org
This window will now become your connection to the server. Go to your Start Menu, open another Explorer window (My Computer) and navigate to wherever your video is stored. Click on that video and hold the button down and drag the icon to the window where you typed in that ftp: mess. IT SHOULD SAY SOMETHING ABOUT SAVING IT (ahh, sorry.) Hit "Save." It isn't saving it back to your system, it is sending it to nago. That should work. If it doesn't, well, post back and I or someone else will help you use CuteFTP (since you have it, you said).

Um, you might want to call it Windows Explorer to differentiate.badmartialarts wrote:Now, to use these in Explorer. NOT INTERNET EXPLORER IT'S NOT EXACTLY THE SAME. (Sorry for the yelling.) There ought to be a shortcut to Windows Explorer on the Start Menu or on its list of programs. If I'm not mistaken, it's really the same program as "My Computer", except with the settings changed so that it exudes a different look.

Alright, I followed your directions, but when I open the 'My Computer' click on view, toolbars, then address bar all i get is a thing that says address off to the side and i cant even click on it. Is it because I have Windows XP?
