They will usually link to the forum rules. You are the first one I've seen be confused about this. And if you haven't noticed, this isn't the other forum. Therefore, as Bashar said, it can be run as they see fit. All forums are not the same. (for the record, before any confusion occurs, I'm not a mod)
Wow, this is the first forum I've been to where so many things I've said were misunderstood and I've actually misunderstood things in return. I didn't mean to say this was the other forum or that it should be run in exactly the same way it is. Since this current thread is in the feedback section, I assumed making certain comments along this line would be taken into consideration or at least thought about because usually when you see the words feedback, it means something along the lines of giving suggestions toward the forum. Which is all I did really.

Lists tend to be either boring and generally do not leave much room for discussion (which is what the forum is for), or proned to spam and trolls. Which is why, however relevent it may be to the topic of anime, those types of threads are locked for being pointless. When starting a new topic, it must provoke interesting conversation beyond a "list and why." Introductions, unless they're asking a question, go into that same category. There's not much that can be said in an intro thread other that 'Hi! Welcome!' And if every member did that, the forum would be an overflowing mess of 'Hi! Welcome' threads. Other forums may allow it, but its just not practical here. And I'm afraid if you want an OT or "spam" thread, you're going to have to donate and take it to the 'Donator's Forum.'
I'm sorry if my dbz thread was considered pointless, it was not meant to be, and if I thought it would have been taken so, I never would have created it in the first place. Again, it's not so much that I'm upset that my dbz thread was locked. I'm not that childish. I'm just a guy who found it surprising that a thread placed in the appropiate section was locked within 6 posts being made.
Now that I know the reasons as to why it was locked and since I do not agree with them, I'll take my leave. Sure, most of you are probably going to joke about this for awhile, but I don't think this is a proper way to treat newcomers. Laughing when there's a misunderstanding, locking threads without explaining until a thread is created to talk about it, it just doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not saying you guys should change the forums to fit any one individuals wants, but if you want to keep newcomers, I would suggest taking how things are run here into thought and maybe improving on them.
