AD, dude, I was NEVER warned by ANYONE. That's why i was surprised as fuck when i was banned because it was many many hours after the "flaming" of the newb

Secondly, If you're going to allow the "creative sharing" of songs and shit, AND anime, and subs and all this other crap, why let some shit slide but not the rest? That is hypocracy. "We turn a blind eye". You're pretending it's not illegal for the sake of "Creativity"? Bullshit.

Thirdly, I wasn't attacking anyone save for one newb, i wasen't using offensive language, infact, i was on my best damn behavior, and no one messaged me, no one warned me, no one did NOTHIN' to me till you banned me.

Reguardless. I followed YOUR rules senor, I did the no swearing, no linking of porn or nothing, all I did was act stupid and sing. Actually I didn't get to the singing. I WAS gonna serenade you all with Led Zepplin, but, whatever.

If you're gonna make up shit about me being "warned", atleast come up with some plausable shit, or examples, or SOMETHING.

Oi, as for being "annoying", that's subjective as well. I'm annoyed by newbs who say "HOW DO YOU RIP A DVD?! WHAT'S A VOB FILE?! OMGWTF WHY CAN'T I DOWNLOAD A VIDEO I SIGNED UP LIKE IT SAID". But do people get them banned?

I never said it wasn't illegal, that's a totally different issue. Most AMVs are technically illegal. We don't decide the site rules on illegality alone, we decide them based on what is more likely to delay a lawsuit - saying we don't approve of pirated material is one of these things. The irc rule was, as I said, a bling-eye thing but now that you mention it I might as well make that a rule too.

I don't recall the date when you were banned as it was so long ago. If you had a problem with it, mentioning it way back then would have been the obvious thing to do. Bringing it up months later just so you can be cool and rebellious doesn't really help you make a case that you suffered abuse from the evil and corrupt irc moderators. We have chat logs, if you really want to waste my time looking through them then I can but given that you did break the rules I don't really see how the ban wasn't justified. You were being an ass, you got banned.

The reason that they don't get banned and you do is that they simply need help and guidance to act less foolish whereas you were acting foolish willingly and in a purposefully disruptive way despite warnings to stfu. You aren't winning me over by saying that it's the "newbs" fault, you know.

Reguardless, respect is earned, not given. I respect those who've put up the site and whatnot and the good work they do (...most of the time....the new logo is just to flamboyently gay for my tastes), but mods on IRC are just over-the-top ban-happy and they don't seem to know what it's like to not be so uptight.

And yes I read your post, and a few others not by you, and basically summed up my solution to the "OH NOES I'VE BEEN BANNED, WOE IS ME!" nonsense. I would of thought this whole AIM chat vs IRC chat thing would of blown over after.....a week. Yet in both chats I see the "ZOMG THE IRC ARE NAZIS" and "THE AIM SHITZ ARE ASSHOLES!!!" to this day. I posted what you could do about the IRC chat. As for the aim chat that's the equivilant of a prison comedy flick with a few harsh wardens and a new kid getting shanked in the shower every week, there's nothing much you can do but play nice with the inmates and be sold as someone's bitch for a cigarette so they'll watch your vid. (obvious V.B. reference)

Reguardless, Senor AD, dude, did you make sure i actually RECEIEVED those warnings? Half the time I'll say something in a room and no one responds, and maybe like 30 minutes later a mod would warn me. By then I've either left the computer, or I'm in a game, or essentially not there.

Ok, maybe the warnings were given, but were they received? Did someone just say "WARP STOP BEING SUCH A MEAN GUY!"? Never saw those, chances are someone said it and I wasen't there. For an effective warning to take place, both sides gotta be present. That'd be like making a decree in the forums that no more fansubbed videos can be used for source footage, and then not posting it anywhere else. Message ain't receieved there boyo.

And what we have here is a "culture clash". You say newbs need guidance and shit, what if by my standards, singing alternative folk songs while talking about being masterbated by midgets (MSI reference, go me) is normal for me, but not acceptable by you. I was being an annoyance, but not an ass. Trust me, I know the difference.

Well.. though i don't make a habit of chattign on IRC i know enough that the cardinal rule for almost any IRC room i've ever been in is "the mods > you" It's their call, not yours and you can leave if you don't like it. As i don't start shit with anyone fo the hell of it, and i don't have an obstinant, angry, angsty, or asshole-like personality i've never had a single problem... wonder why that is...

Ok I've just read through this whole thread. Warped, all your doing with your continuos arguments is digging an increasingly deeper hole for yourself. Your just making yourself seem continuosly more arogant and immature. If you want to be allowed back into the chat, stop arguing, realise what you did wrong and face up to the fact that mabey you did deserve what you got. I've bein banned before. Trust me, an apology works much better than standing up for whatever you did wrong.

Just a little heads up regarding the "receiving the warning" part... I've learnt from basic IRC etiquette that if you're not in front of your comp, then you tag yourself as |AFK or something. The mods and other members don't have any means of knowing whether you're in the chatroom and simply silent, or doing stuff in another room of your house and not reading/logging whatever happens in the chat window. I know that everytime I'm tagged as |AFK, the people needing to talk to me act like "ah, she's AFK, I'm going to send a PM then, thus I know it won't be lost in the rest of the chat". Common sense, so to say. (Or I'd link a sound event to my name, to be warned when someone addresses me specifically; I'm going to assume here, but I think it's a safe aassumption, that a mod addressing you writes your name in the warning too, and doesn't throw a simple "behave else you're banned" in the chatroom without at least addressing the targeted person.)

Now, I don't know how this stuff happened, nor what was exactly said and how, perhaps you were tagged all the same and it still didn't change anything. If you weren't, though, it may be an idea for a next time.
