I just wish some discs were better about hardsubbing signs and other on-screen text, because I occasionally want to watch some things dubbed and still know what those signs are saying. FLCL vol. 1-2 come to mind.

i dont know if this helps much, but i have cut out many subs in my vids using vdub. i suggest cropping subs at the top and bottom of the screen, and blur out subs in the middle like credits, etc (but the blur usually comes out looking crappy if you dont do it just right, thats why you should crop all you can). also, read the subtitle removal guide^^
