cleaning scratched dvd's

ok ive noticed that a bunch of my anime dvd's have started geting scratches on them. theys are minor though and the disk still works properly. but i was wondering if thier was any way to remove the scratches (without screwing the data or anything)

if u just want them to look shiny and shit then no there isnt well u could use a buffer but ummmm that could just destroy the whole dvd. if they dont work becouse of big scraches just use tooth past it will remove the big ones but it makes little tiny ones all over the dvd resulting in it looking fugly but at least it works. or u could buy one of those fancy dvd fixers which does the same thing as toothpast and a rag but costs 5x as much.

You might want to see if any video stores around you have an actual buffing machine. If they know what they're doing the DVDs will not be destroyed and will look as good as new.

I knew a guy that used to use furniture polish on laserdisks.
If you treat your disks when they are new, then the plastic won't get scratched in the first place. I've tried it on a few blockbuster vids that I had to get scratches, grape jelly, and fingerprints off of. On, the plus side, you won't have to clean the dust out of your player as often since the disks won't be as dust prone.

i tried that (with a few scratched cd's). enough to say, good thing i didnt try it on my dvd's

really. it didnt work for you. it works for me fine. u have to go in one direction when doing it. meh maybe it depends on toothpastes or something.

I just resently bought a Disk Dr cleaning thing. Using the floride trick didn't fix mylarger scrates, but this thing rocks! Okay its called a Skip DR. It comes with 1 sander, 1 bottle of cleaner (its just filtered water), and the main unit. I had some problems with my lainDVD, gone! It was only €20! come on, you can't be that cheap not to buy it? (I was at first) But I'v seen 3 models in America, GAME DR, CD DR, and DVD DR. There all the same thing! I did find a generic model SKIP DR, and its worked on every thing so far. So get it, cuz its good.

yeah i saw that CD Doctor thing at EB. its like green and spitaly , costs about $40 ($US32, aprox). thought i'd buy it but, meh i keep good care of my dvd's anyway, well, usualy, i just get paranoid when i see tiny scratches on them
