How the flip do I play the AMVs!?!

Post by Bardiel13 » Mon Jan 03, 2005 4:59 pm

I'm new to this site and I registered only a few days ago. I downloaded one AMV and I can only get the audio to play. I use Quicktime 6.5 and RealPlayer. I always get this pop ups that says it can't find the requiered compresser. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

www.divx.com

www.xvid.org

(The two main codecs you'll need)

He's on a Mac.

You'll need DivX for Mac (not sure if www.divx.com has it there or not). Then Quicktime should be able to playback most videos on this site (probably not mine though :( )

Oh. I didn't see that in his post anywhere :?

In that case, he should try VLC or mplayer. Both work excellently for playing DivX/XviD video. I've been able to play everything I've downloaded from this site with the Linux build of mplayer; the Mac OS X version should work just as well.

My astute powers of deduction told me "Mac user" when he said he only had Quicktime and RealPlayer to play videos back with.

Hadn't thought of mplayer though, that's a good suggestion.
