Frame Size Problem

Post by -MajinLink- » Fri Dec 31, 2004 11:21 pm

Everytime I export my music video from premiere it turns out looking like something this.
Image

This whole picture would represent my video's frame size after I export it. But when I play it there is a smaller portion inside of it (White) playing. When really the the video should take up everything, 352x420. Why is this happening?

Also, I have some footage at 320x240 and some at like 720x480 when I place the clips on the storyboard they show at different sizes. Anything I can do after I export it to show all the movie at the same frame size?

Your aspect ratio is wrong. For display on a computer monitor, the footage needs to be something like 320x240 or 640x480. That's the quick, dirty answer. The more in depth answer is...complicated, and I don't have a full handle on it myself. :) Stupid display vs. actual ratios vs. pixel shapes... :x

What's your project resolution set to?

As for the last question, I assume you're using Premiere Pro, because older versions of Premiere would automatically resize everything to the project resolution (very annoying). To make all incoming clips the same size, go to your project settings and select "Scale Clip to Project Dimensions When Adding To Sequence".

Well I clicked "Scale Clip to Project Dimensions When Adding To Sequence". I didn't see a change in anything. After I exported it one clip was bigger than the other.

And for my project resolution, I forgot. :? Where can I find that on Premiere again?

Um... Project menu --> Video Settings or something like that (I don't have it open at the moment).

Well if you mean frame size, it's 720x480.

Just noticed something, after I checked "Scale Clip to Project Dimensions When Adding To Sequence" all of the clips after that point I added to the storyboard were resized. But everything before that stayed the same size. =/

Yes, thats what happens if you don't select the option before doing that in Premiere.
