About to give up on 24000->23976

Post by Unfound » Sat Jun 05, 2004 9:59 pm

Alright, I'm working on my next music video and I did everything the guide says about working in 24 in Premiere with audio and video but, for some reason, when I save out of V Dub Mod, the audio becomes unsynced half way through the video. I even saved with the audio straight outta Premiere to check that it wasn't the actual project and it wasn't. Help.

When this happened to me, it was due to a glitch in Lame. Try a different setting. The one I got to work was 192 kbps CBR. see if that helps.

Nope that didn't work. The weird thing is that it seems to be going fine but right at 7.something seconds it stops getting in sync. Its like as if its the 24 FPS audio file didn't compensate for a slower beat or something in the original 23976 .wav.

Hmmm . . . I have no idea then :(. Sorry.

If it looks good and sounds good, couldn't you just leave it in 24 fps? Would that do anything bad to it that I'm not aware of?

How noticible is it? Because it you can't tell the difference, does it matter?

Alright, I figured out what the problem is. The audio is slowing down to 21 seconds, but even after I convert the video to 23.976, it still stays the same length. Now I just need to know why. (BTW, I'm doing it in abcavi AVI Tag Editor with Force Frames at 23976 and scale at 1000)

Are you adding the audio in virtualdub after you change the frame rate in ABCtag editor?

Also, I know that this is true because I accidentally used the 24.000 fps audio with the 23.976 Encode through V Dub Mod and it was still on sync, which it shouldn't be because the video should slow down by .1%.
