downloaded episodes

im talking bout the legally downloaded ones. eg. ANBU's Naruto episodes.

Anyway. my question is this:

How would i go about editing these? I wanted to edit these directly in Premiere Pro using .avs files. I think the way these episodes are encoded may make it difficult to edit directly, but i dont want to convert all 114 episodes into huffyuv. It'll take too long...

Just thought u guys could help.

I say go about making AVS files, if your computer specs can handle it.

For reference, they actually aren't legal. It's just a matter of nobody bothing to care that it's illegal.

Just find the scenes you want to use then open the vid in vdub and convert the specific scene to huffyuv.

And like kalium said, fansubs are illegal.

I just tried edited the files as they are.. and it worked fine and smooth anyway. Turns out my new comp is better than i thought.

doenst anybody read the FAQ. it says how they cease distribution once the anime has been licensed. therefore they are NOT illegal fansubs.

No, the Berne convention applies. They are still illegal.

Yes, they are. It doesn't matter whether the anime has been licensed or not -- that's merely an <i>ethical</i> point.

Fansubs are illegal because they involve redistribution of copyrighted anime without permission. End of story.
