She's subbing for me in my profile because she has to put up with a lot of my AMV antics (she'll be napping under my desk, Premiere crashes, I yell, she jumps up all scared and gives me dirty looks for the next hour) so this is my way of saying sorry.
For those who may wonder or get confused, I have to date made four AMVs: I finished and released my first one in Sept. '07, made a second one in Oct. '07, finished and released a third one in March '08 and released my second one in April '08. I then finished and released a fourth in Oct. '08. This means the third AMV I uploaded here (MSAMAMV) actually predates the second one I uploaded ('Bustin), but if you look at their release dates it looks like I made MSAMAMV after 'Bustin...I made about 10% of MSAMAMV after 'Bustin, that's all. :|
Who the heck cares? I do, 'cause if I'd released my third AMV first, then this entire situation would be beyond bizarre and have some serious consequences, so identifying my third-released AMV as the second one I created is only a bit less important to bear in mind when trying to figure out how I apparently went from Point A to Point C without bothering with B. I think I could have gone right from A to C (making C B) since MSAMAMV was in no way, shape or form a practice session for C - I didn't learn anything that helped me make C and I was actually pondering B and C simultaneously - however C certainly influenced what form B eventually took. Strip down B to nothing but AC footage and that's pre-C B, add all the sauce and that's post-C B. Got it? Good.
p.s. Upon further thought, I might never have released post-C B if I hadn't made and released C so in that respect C is more like a "B" in terms of getting me from Point A to Point C, released-AMV-wise. ^_^
heh, so basically all you have to keep in mind is that MSAMAMV is the kind of video that most people would never upload, it would be deleted or stuffed in some dark recess of their computer for all eternity. Since I'm kind of crazy, however, I went ahead and shared it. This is why I personally consider 'Bustin my second AMV because it was the second deliberately crafted, "Ok, I'm going to make this," serious project that I managed to finish. If I went ahead and released everything I'd ever worked on I would have been hovering around the "K" mark by the time C went public.
I'm done now.
Wait. Now that I think about it, B and C were not only simultaneously mused, they were simultaneously experimented with. Yes...I messed around with both to see how well AC was going to cooperate, I just ran into a massive brick wall with B and so wound up plowing ahead with C. At the time I also experimented with D, E and F (not in that order), which may also someday resurface. Whoa...which makes C...more like G? :(
Ok people, as a refresher... 'Bustin is my second released AMV. If that's all that counted, it would be my second AMV. Unfortunately for me/you, I decided after the fact to release something I'd (mostly) made prior to 'Bustin so that it winds up looking like my third released AMV is also my third AMV, when in fact it's not so black and white. 90% of an AMV is a heck of a lot of AMV, if I'd only made 50% of MSAMAMV prior to 'Bustin, then I'd probably call it my third AMV, but I didn't. But isn't that saying I consider MSAMAMV my second AMV? Looking at it chronologically it certainly is, but the thing to bear in mind is that I don't consider it a "real" AMV at all. It kind of doesn't exist as a solid entity on my AMV timeline (otherwise, again, I'd have to count all the other stuff I've done part of that AMV timeline, which I don't). So it's there, but not really, which is why I get a chuckle out of it when someone says they like MSAMAMV better than all my other videos.
Btw, the last six paragraphs of this Profile entry is an inside joke that only I probably "get." :P
