Well I have been editing since the back end of 2003, Christmas time when i got my new computer. I did a lot of small projects using Windows Movie Maker, a truly "Superior" program, not anything that spawned from this is even worth a mention.
What inspired me to even start editing was the first AMV I seen while I was hunting for DBZ clips around the internet back on my friends 56k internet. This AMV was a DBZ one I don’t know the song, nor was even able to view the entire thing due to 56k. After a while I tried Adobe Premiere on my old computer and it barely ran smoothly so I decided to wait for my new one. Christmas came and I got onto practicing some stuff with Premiere. "YCMII" was born, nothing great now but an achievement for me back then. When the Video was completed and uploaded I instantly began work on my next video, I was addicted to the whole "editing" thing.
I began making IdiotecK quite a large leap for me as it was the video where I started using effects. It took me so long to even do the first few seconds as I was experimenting and trying different things. The entire video was very time consuming since it was entirely made up of "trial and Error"
I sent some betas around to some friends of the AMV world, and it reached Requiett who seemed to like the idea and like my style and perhaps saw potential thus I was offered a place in "12th Illusion Studios"
I was overjoyed, cause in my eyes I was just a newb I guess he was daring to give me a place since the video weren’t even finish and he didn’t know much about my skill (if I had any back then)...but he obviously had some faith.
I worked even harder on effects since I knew it was an effect orientated studio. At this point I didn’t really have my own "style" but this new found "effect" style flourished in me and I grew accustomed to it.
I looked up to Requiett and thought of him as a superior (still do) as he was such a great editor. He helped me a great deal with ideas and general advice and editing tips. He is some what, a type of role model, something for me to aim to and aspire to.
Anyways idioteck was released and proved some what successful in the sense it was better than the video I made previous to it.
I am always willing to hear people’s opinions on my work, to in turn help me get better.
