  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.

This song will forever be tied to A Little Retrospect for most of us. It's not fair to you, but it IS reality.

Now, that being said, I really liked the editing in this. It was quite fun. And I am a huge fan of FLCL. Some might consider the tangles to be cheesy, but I thought they were cool.

HOWEVER, what the heck was with the total lack of pre-processing, crap encoding, and the DIVX container? How do you reasonably get to the clear editing level you have without learning how to preprocess and post-format for distribution?

Editing level isn't tied to technical knowledge. :P
That being said, telling him to read AbsoluteDestiny & ErMaC's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video too would be more useful than just telling him what didn't go well with the technical side.

As for the video, I'll get this know, will get back to you soon.

EDIT: Ok, I found this one to be quite good. It had its amount of technical issues (aspect ratio, interlacing, blocking), but the editing itself was quite entertaining. The black flashes that you had grew tiring after a bit, though. Some scenes and cut could have been handled better, but that's about it. The cookie cutters and the box transitions you had in there weren't exactly to my liking but I don't have anything against them either. Overall I think this is a 3/5, could have been a 3.5 wasn't it for the quality which was seriously lacking.

You don't need to tell me my job, kipper. He could read my sticky, as well. I always expect more initiative from those with higher editing ability. I expect them to be more capable of research. Out of respect for the fact that with clear editing talent, they are not idiots and need not be treated as such.

The whole pre and post-production methods have all been a blur to me
I'll look at the guide and try to understand it :book:

By far your best amv till now. But still, 0:13-0:20 and some transitions ruined the atmosphere... along with the terrible visual quality. Let's give it a 3/5
