Dead chicks and some giant robots.

I guess you can consider this my first 'original' idea. (Well atleast original considering me)

The concept for this video will be pretty easy to get if you've seen Shikabane Hime. I was listening to MCR's - "Dead" one night and I thought it would go excellently with the anime (considering the whole corpse princess thing, and dead coming back to life).

Even if you haven't seen the show then the concept should be clear by the end of the video, and if you still don't get it. It's centered around Makina, a living corpse that has to kill 108 corpses to get into heaven. The video also flows a little bit odd, ending with the first episode.

I hope to read your opinions about it.

And here is a GURREN LAGANN VIDEO

Image IT HAS TO BE THAT BIG BECAUSE IT'S GURREN LAGANN

LOL this amv is craziness. Fits the song perfectly, good combo.

The sync is kinda weird, its everywhere but theres like no significant sequence of sync, just randomly synced it seemed. I didn't really like the frame stops (the motion stopped periodically to the beat i think?) Could of done something differently there. The video quality is good but the luma blocking killed most of the darker scenes quality wise.

That was an interesting action amv, I dunno how else to put it. I think it was just cause of the weirdness of the sync.

4/5

Thanks, and the stop motion wasn't intentional, something was wrong with my source :\ I guess I just fluked a bit when encoding the MKVs. I also noticed it kinda went with the beat, so I didn't intend to reencode my files to change it :P.

Thanks for your opinion, I also did notice how awkard the sync was sometimes but I guess it mixed with the pace of the song and the anime so it wasn't much of a drawback.

Sorry, but since I'm now working on the project with the same source I just can't tolerate any other vid aside from mine on it XD What's wrong with the aspect? Shikabane Hime is perfect 16x9, so why do I see some elongate faces along with random scene selection? And I didn't like the mood. Again, it's all because I'm working on completely different type of AMV on this source, I guess. But for now it's a complete miss for me :(

I was working in 16x9, thing is some of my footage had water marks in the top right corner, so I tried a little zooming in, I kept it all proportional though (Not sure what happened). I'll be waiting for your AMV with this source to come out :D I really enjoy your stuff Aggressor.

I was actually gonna say this but releasing videos at 720x480 isnt all that problematic these days. Most people use players where you can set the AR within the player so it plays properly even if you edit at the DVD's frame size and keep it that way regardless of pixelsize.

I myself watched it on vlcplayer noticed it was 720x480 and just set the AR to 16/9. I do that alot with 720x480 amvs.

Then maybe you'll be interested in a good remaster? Just download raws from "Raws-4U"- they don't have watermarks and are 1280x720. Then set "square pixel (1:1)" in your project, and give it a second try. And sorry for my being a grumbler- I just think the technical quality of AMV is almost as important as the content.

But why do I have to go into the settings of my player and switch it? A good 720x480 vid has "anamorphic" flag in it and stretches itself without my meddling. And to make the vid 16x9 even after the final render is so easy that it makes me wonder why one should leave it as is. It's clear that the vid is not right, so why don't take another 5 minutes to fix it?

ok.. this vid is like... 25% of what it supposed to be in the beginning.
the scenes are random. TOO random. I mean, people, don't you even listen the lyrics? the second part after the first chorus was nice, yeah. BUT, how the hell are these 2 combine with each other? I mean, how a girl with lots of guns, swords and guts beatin' up monsters associated with the "regrets of life after death" concept? all I saw is just action. yeah, technically it packed a punch, but.. it is.. i don't know. empty, maybe?
this is.. the second song from the Black Parade, that I've seen in amv (the other was "Welcome to the Black Parade" + Advent Children. I mean, who saw THAT coming?) and it's a second disappointment.
Overall: I'd give the vid an 8 for techs, and... 5 for the "filling".

oh yeah, and the song's cut is awful. sorry, no offends.

Oh heya, yeah, alot of people have been telling me that the scene selection was random. Yeah, it's difficult for me trying to decide which scenes give significance and which scenes I need to sync to the action. Don't worry, I was disappointed too, but I'm working on improving :D

P.S. Really enjoyed your Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge :P kickass video.
