Banner Help!!

This is my first forum and I would like to know how to create banners and set them onto this website.

1. be sure to read all the rules here so you know what is and is not acceptable.

2. get a photo software like MS Paint, Photoshop, or THE GIMP

3. have fun creating a banner you like

4. export from said photo software.

5. upload

6. ?????

7. Profit.

unless you are creating a signature banner, then we have different rules... signature banner rules are covered in the org <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=289">Forum Rules</a>.

could you be more specific than just "banners" please?

Certainly. Those banners that apppear below a user's signature. I've seen many of them each time I posted a reply to different forum topics. If those are signature banners then this is what I meant.

I followed each necessary step to making my banner then after uploading it onto Photobucket, I copied the img code onto the signature part of my profile, but got very small banner. The forum rules state that a signature image must not exceed 600 pixels in length or 40 pixels in height. Unfortunately, my banner reached 589 pixels in width then 138 in height.

What particular size must banners be placed to fit the bottom and be able to see clearly?
How big must they be?
Why did my banner appear so small when I attached it to my signature section?

Did you copy the right link from PB? There are few of them, you have to choose the right one.

Also, the signature has to be max. 600 wide and 40 high, not "or", so you will probbly have to lower it a little.

I copied my banner's IMG code from Photobucket onto my profile's Signature box. A member said use that link prior to attaching my banner in the signature area.

It's also a .png, so if that has anything to do with it then just let me know.

And exactly how big is it lengeth and hightwise?

Size = about 170 KB

Length and Height in pixels = 589 in length and 138 in height
