Rock Squad

Post by od1n eL » Mon Mar 17, 2008 6:29 pm

This is the first AMV I've created. The idea to make it came after I finished watching BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad series. This AMV was meant to look like live performance of the song I've used in this video, so that there's not much of FX and characters everyday life's scenes. It took about 23 hours to finish the video.

First video ...? Beck ...? MP4 ....? :?
Somethings fishy here .... how come your not making dbz videos in wmm like the rest of the beginners?

/gets with much suspicion

EDIT: Hm, this was interesting. First off: if it's trying to look like a live video, then loose the effects and transitions. Real life doesn't turn black and white then disappear into a circle >_< lol
There were too many scenes repeated and not all of the lip synch was good, though not all of it was bad. The song didn't seem quite right .... russian right? It didn't really have that rock feel that most songs used with beck have. Overall if this really was your first video, it was pretty good. But it just wasn't what i expected (or maybe there was some joke that i didn't get ...) 2/5

Well, I didn't watch DragonBall and I'm not going to. Also, I don't like Windows built-in programs }=)

That's right, but this video wasn't meant to completely look like plain recording of the live. You know, when they make a music video based on the live show, sometimes they put in scenes that not belong to this show. Like scenes from repetitions or just showing the band walking the city. In my case, I put in, for example, black-and white scenes with another band. I'll try to explain.. This song, performed by rockers, is about how umm.. bad and soulless is pop-music and about cruelty of the pop-industry. Something like that. So, that black-and-white band was chosen like representative of the pop-music and those two men whom you can see in the very middle of the AMV are producers. There's some words about them in the song, so there they are. Also, since the b-n-w band is not performing the song and is only for demonstration purposes, there's no attempt to make some lipsinc for them.

Yeah, but you know, when I watched those episodes I was taking footage from, I noticed that in anime itself some scenes were repeating few times during the episode ^_^ And, after all, this was my first AMV and this was also the first time I was using Premiere and meGUI, so I had to find out how to make those things do what I want while making the video

Yup, this song is in russian. This can be the reason why it's not so easy to understand the idea I was trying to express in this video, because there was more sense put in the lyrics then in the music =J
