Welcome to the NHK - Reckless Sato
Hi everyone!
Though I've been registered for more than 2 years now, this not only the first AMV I'm uploading here, but also my first AMV ever.
Luckily I've got some experience in making music videos, mostly gaming music videos, so I think it's not too bad.
Hopefully you'll enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!
I'd be glad to hear any opinions, suggestions, and constructive criticism from all of you!

I haven't really got much to say, other than that it was absolutely beautiful that you had a scene with a guy taking a dump, coupled with the emotionally charged lyric "god save me from this madness".
That, my friend, is class, and I commend you for it.
I'm afraid I can't really offer you any useful feedback though. I didn't like the song, and kind of zoned out half way through, but the toilet bit perked me up, as it were.

The song was not my thing, I guess, and plus I didn't get the combination between the song and the anime. Why should a guy, who can't even tidy up his room and being lazy as hell, be reckless? I couldn't see any decent lyric sync nor any music sync... I think the only nice thing you did, was telling the story of the anime once again, but for me, who didn't watch the anime, it was just 'boring'. Hope that helps you a bit

I'm glad you did at least enjoy that one scene

And I have to admit that it's not the choice of music I would've made normally for any of my videos. The one and only reason I chose this was that I thought it would go perfectly with what I had in mind for this video.
It's also kind of understandable you lost interest halfway through... but I just wanted to keep it simple, more or less :\
@Nunchuck:
Well, I always thought he was reckless in his own way... But oh well, I guess you're right. Doesn't make much sense to anyone who hasn't seen it. Thanks for pointing that out

Well, music choice is about as subjective and personal as you can get, isn't it? I can't genuinely fault you for it; you have to use stuff you like.
I suppose one thing I could say is that the lip sync detracts from the video quite a lot, because afaict it has to be really accurate to not stand out as very wrong.
I've been trying it a bit, and it's not too bad if you've got a stationary character just mouthing off with like 3 frames of animation over and over, but the scenes you had of people walking, turning their heads, etc, personally i think it's too much to tackle unless you want to spend hundreds of hours making it look right, frame by frame.
So... where was I? I think I need some practice constructing meaningful critiques. Also I'd recommend ignoring me as a generally useful rule of thumb.
edit: did I mention? man on the bog - class

Actually I didn't even try to make it lip sync. I just didn't want that for my first AMV, and tbh, I'm generally not too fond of lip sync as a priority for a video at all. Which, on the other hand, doesn't mean I don't like seeing it well done - I deeply respect anyone who can pull it off accurately.blabbler wrote:I suppose one thing I could say is that the lip sync detracts from the video quite a lot, because afaict it has to be really accurate to not stand out as very wrong.

But of course you're right, it really does distract a lot even or maybe especially if it's not aimed towards lip sync. That's one of the completely new experiences for me, since I'm used to making gaming music videos with little to no characters talking at all.
No, no, your criticism is welcome! At least you're honestly speaking out loudly what you think is wrong (or right) about it and that's what counts, since it helps people improve their work a lot - if they're willing to listen, of course.So... where was I? Thanks again xDedit: did I mention? man on the bog - class
By the way, the reason I chose to show this scene, especially during "god save me from this madness" was that I wanted to show Sato reflecting about his own false actions, i.e.: Using his friend Yamazaki to pretend he's got his own company when he's really unemployed, or getting Misaki to pose as his girlfriend (although she rarely knows him) to deceive his mother. I think this is one of the rare moments where he actually realizes his faults and I wanted to show that.
But other than that, yeah, it's just a man taking a dump x)

90 downloads in 2 days is pretty impressive. I'd be thankful for that.XTRMNTR2K wrote:BUMP
Seriously, 90 downloads already and no comments?
It can't be that bad, can it? ... Well, if it is, at least someone tell me. It still *is* my first AMV, despite my previous experience.
I'm thankful for every comment, be it praise or criticism. Thanks.

Well, I don't get that many downloads on my stuff, and comments (both for the vids and in my intro threads) are pretty rare, so I wouldn't put too much stock in it.XTRMNTR2K wrote:Actually, I was thinking that as well x)CorpseGoddess wrote: 90 downloads in 2 days is pretty impressive. That's why I didn't understand no one posted any comments before
So I came to the conclusion it had to be SO incredibly bad no one survived watching this.
Then again, maybe it's just me...
