Titles that tell you NOTHING about the video

Post by Sukunai » Fri Aug 31, 2007 10:00 pm

Ok I am not incapable of clicking a link and reading about the video through the description, but being human, I normally will choose to look at an amv largely based on the title.

So while browsing the recommended threads, I wander around, and encounter Princess Bride!

Holy friggin surprise !!

I was interested really because I like Kotoko, thought, why not.
Jumping jeeebers, I don't think I have seen this much flashy eye candy fan service in one place before :)

There's little immediate warning that this video is intentional fan service too hehe.

Hey, I LOVED this video, but, I never expected it to be essentially fan service intensive hehe.

I wish song titles were a bit more illustrative of content. I would imagine a lot of us viewers miss a lot of good videos just because we pass over them based on the title. Well at least I do.
Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

easy, just add "Echoes of" as a pre-fix and the depth of the title will go up a notch ;)

. any complete sentence should be descriptive; noun, verb, adjective. Just using a Name?

That's why only 1 editor should be naming videos.

That's why you look at who made it. ;P

titles should recreate the amv in ascii form.

one possible problem with trying to give your title qualifiers (like ultra-mega-effectsy video) is that it requires you judging your own video, which in some cases doesn't turn out well or at least must be taken with a grain of salt, like "greatest naruto video evar."

.. then how about a Limit to sentence size? In College, more than nine words failed student. ( English Lit.. 240 ) It would save space. It would be descriptive. You'd have to think about what your saying. And make not exceptions to the Rules!

There's always OMG It's the best video ever made! How can anyone ever beat perfection like this? You should all bow down and worship me right now. Although, if DWP is to be believed, the title isn't accurate. But it's DWP so it's safe to ignore him, this video is perfection.
