Took a risk watching a video without any comments on it.. but it was better than expected.
I kinda liked it. Your fight scenes were pretty on point, bbut you should really ditch that falling thing that popped up every now and then, it's not really fitting in the video here. Also, you have a very slow build up here. It needed a faster pace even during the verse. However, the parts you did with lots of motion in it worked well. A few parts were slightly off-sync, but it wasn't enough to take from the feel of the video since it was mainly during the slower sections.
Technical wise, audio and video were pretty awesome, nothing wrong on my end to report.
Not one of the legendary first videos. But it's a pretty good first try. I hope to see that you get better at this.

I said in my opinion that you sould read the how-to giudes on the org.
a-m-v.org How To Guides
I still stick by it. You should download the AMV App. The guides will tell you all about how to use it and what it is for.
I can't tell you exactly what ideas to use, but if you want an idea of what not to do, check out the most used animes and most used Music sections and never make an AMV tcoupling anything on the two lists, unless of course you're goign for a comedic undertone.
Also, check out the top 10% videos. They'll give you an idea of the kind of things people look for in an AMV.
The most important thing I can say is that it doesn't really matter what others think of your videos, but more what you think of your videos.
If you make something and it comes out the way you like it, screw what other people think.
Just make them how you would enjoy them.
If you're wanting to make something that will get you lots of
"OMG THAT WAS AWESOME!"
Post a naruto video about sasuke done to Linkin Park's "Numb" on Y O U T U B E.
If you're seriously trying to challnge yourself, draw out on paper what you want your video to look like before you even open your video editor.
Then see what you have to do to accomplish it. Everyone that has ever told me they do that, has always had a great video.
Also, don't feel you have to turn out a new one every week. Some people do this for a living, and can put out something spectacular in their free time. Casual users tend to take longer to make a better video, that's OK. If you spend six months on a video, and it comes out spectacular, people will notice and tend to respond with minimal coaxing.
If you spend one afternoon on a half-baked idea, then you might get some feedback for day or so, but it won't help you in the long run.
I hope you take a look at those guides and follow what they have to say.

i know very few people who do a hardcopy storyboard. Your information is flawed. The people who do storyboard, generally do so in their head. I've yet to meet a person who draws out their ideas on paper, and i know many good editors.Dezbo21 wrote:If you're seriously trying to challnge yourself, draw out on paper what you want your video to look like before you even open your video editor.

once again: flawed. The matching of overused sources doesn't matter, i've seen many an overused song/anime combination that has done something entirely original, in a non-satirical manner.Dezbo21 wrote:I can't tell you exactly what ideas to use, but if you want an idea of what not to do, check out the most used animes and most used Music sections and never make an AMV tcoupling anything on the two lists, unless of course you're goign for a comedic undertone.
Time shuold never be a considered factor in the making of a video. I've spent weeks/months on certain videos, and mere days (sometimes as little as 14 hours) on others, and the positive/negative reactions don't reflect upon the time i spent on it.. I know i'm not the only one who is like this.Dezbo21 wrote:Also, don't feel you have to turn out a new one every week. Only You and Freefall.
Only You was made in 4 hours in the Iron Chef final. Freefall was made in 14 hours in one sitting. Both are good examples of what can be done, regardless of time frame.
I think before you go on the self-righteous path of "i'm just giving my opinion, and i think you should do this", that you should seriously reconsider the advice that you're giving, because i think you're pushing a new creator in the wrong direction.

Date Rape was made in one week for about 30 minutes a day. And it's the most awesome/disturbing video ever..
My first video took 4 weeks, with massive notes and sheets of paper. Printouts of EADFAG. and it still came out like crap...
So, beyond all that, what constructive criticism do you have for the video?

As far as the what I said, I had left an opinion for the video, The first one it recieved . They wanted me to elaborate further, so I continued on this thread.
Here it is:
I'm sorry if my advice offends.
I am not a professional video editor. I cook for a living, I do this for fun.
No one seemed to have a problem with:
I do once again appologize so if you can steer them in a better direction please feel free I was only giving the "In general" advice I was asked for.
Also, I have seen and OPed Freefall. If I'm not mistaken.
Like I said I'm only speaking from personal experience, I was using WMM2 until earlier this year.
No one gave me any advice up to that point. Only now have I even begun reciieving it myself.
Please feel free to help them instead of blasting away the little bit I know.
I didn't meant to start a debate or anything, I was just trying to be friendly.
Here it is:
*
o Good You didn't have subtitles streaming throughout the vid.
Sound quality was great.
o Bad You had the opening credits still attatched to the video. You should check out the How-To guides on the org they can tell you how to deal with that.
No offense, but the video quality sucks on this, and that is something I have experience with this. You either need a better input, since I'm not sure how you obtain your clips, and you need to check the stats on your output files.
For AVI that quality was really bad.
The little thing that kept popping up was off beat every time and just didn't make any sense.
o General I could really nit pick this to death, but then you probably would stop reading this and attempt to get it deleted, so I'm going to give you some friendly advice.
Check out the How-To's on this site. It's very helpful, and even though I don't have any posted videos to currently show for it, they have helped me tremendously!
The evidence of that will show soon, still it's best not to make an AMV just because you want to or think the song fits the character. I don't know how to judge your effort since my very first AMV took 6 hours straight on WMM, and still came out looking like crap compared to something I can put out in one afternoon now.
Don't be discouraged by any criticism on this video. I feel that you have some potential to do great. Especially if this is your first AMV. Take my advice, and read the guides. those people know exactly what they are doing.
Update me with your next video, and I'd be glad to see what kind of improvement you've made.
