new recommended amvs?and amv advice on my video

Post by burntresistor » Wed Jun 21, 2006 4:55 pm

1)Does the recommended amv's forum get updated?

2)I'm doing a video and there's no father in it to fit to a certain part
the line goes "when she started screaming that’s my dad outside the car"
would it take people outta the video experience if i just took a person of age or parent in another anime and use it for that scene?

or I can just ignore that part and do my own thing. It’s not part of the chorus so it wouldn’t be a big deal I think.

For those who know the series (whichever series it may be) it might take away from the vid to just randomly stick a father figure in there. There's no rule saying you HAVE to do exactly what the song says. If you just do something that fits with the vid or conveys the sentiment of the line instead of the actual words, that works as well.

Depending on the song's length, how it's timed, and if it goes along with the other lyrics you could edit that part out or do a cool pause of some sort. Experiment with editing sound if possible -- that's my advice.

Or if someone suggests something worthwhile. After adding several things that have only gotten a post or two, I've became rather picky.

Do pretty much what you want to do, advice from others can be good, but only in a technical sense, as far as style of editing, people will always remember an AMV for uniqueness. Always meaning most of the time. XD

people are more flexible with lyric interpretation than ya might think. an example that comes to mind is the use of osaka and tomo as the children of yukari in suberunker's still preoccupied with 1985. people who have seen the anime know that they are yukari's students, but depicting them as her children works cleverly in the vid.
