Multiple Video Tracks In Matroska

I don't think that this would go into video help since I know HOW to do it.

But my question is, for anime parody trailers people often post links to the real trailer or do the picture in picture thing and put the real trailer/comercial/whatever in a small screen in the corner.

Continers like MP4 and Matroska support multiple video tracks so I have a couple of questions

1) Would distributing a video where the parody and original were seperate video tracks in the same container be 'a good idea' for those who actually view videos like that?

2) Would that possible violate org rules since you are uploading an entire comercial trailer to the org as well?

I think uploading the entire trailer might violate something, even if it is along side a persons own video. I think the best way to go would be just to either link to it or host it somewhere else for download for comparison. I know that I'm honestly not too interested in watching a trailer for a live action movie. Except for maybe Harold and Maude.

If you really wanted to do that, maybe find hosting for the dual video one offsite, and just the anime version on local?

I wouldn't recommend putting it on the org. Videos have to be primarily anime. In effect you would be uploading two videos. One that is an amv and the other one is not which you also did not edit... Otherwise it sounds like a neat idea if you have your own hosting, though the fact that it will almost double the fize size is a bit of a downer.

my suggestion if you wanted to do the 2 track method, would be to to a sorta split screen, or Picture in picture as 1 track for comparison, and then the trailer parody by itself as another track. If you still wanted to do it this way, I think thats the best way to go and not cause any legality issues with the site, since many people already do the picture in picture thing anyway ;p
