Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Post by RamonesFan2020204 » Sat Dec 10, 2005 2:14 am

Thankfully, I managed to make some Christmas AMVs before Christmas like I had hoped. Two have been submitted today, and the other two have gotten great feedback from various people.

Looney Christmas Time
This is a Looney Tunes video. I wanted to make this last year, but that Bugs Bunny Christmas video tape I ordered on the internet never came! :x Thankfully, I was able to find "Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales" on one of those file sharing programs.

I Don't Want To Fight Tonight
This is a Nadesico video featuring one of my ALL TIME favorite Christmas songs:"Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)" by The Ramones!

Sonic Saves Christmas
When you take Sonic The Hedgehog Christmas Blast and mix it with a seasoned, energetic instrumental by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, you've got something Sonic alright!!!!!! :D

Spread The Joy!
This one's different from the previous three. It features a bunch of different animes and cartoons instead of just one individual anime or cartoon.

Merry Christmas to all!
May you have more like it!

Out of idle curiosity, did a single one of these take more than an hour or so of you putzing around?

a-m-v.org FAQ wrote:What kind of videos can I put on the database?

The simple answer is ‘anime music videos that you have made’. If the source footage is entirely made up of non-anime sources, then it doesn't belong here. ‘Anime’ here is essentially defined as Japanese animation, including things like cutscenes from Final Fantasy games and so on. Non-Japanese animation and non-animated source are not allowed although we are lenient with anime-inspired original animated or drawn creations that the members have made.

Exhibit B

a-m-v.org FAQ wrote:Where can I download footage?

This is a forbidden question. If you want to make anime music videos you should pay for your source footage. Do not ask this question on the forums, as your account may be suspended or banned.

I didn't say where I got the Bugs Bunny stuff, I said I got it from a file sharing program. I didn't say which one.

this does not change the fact that Looney Tunes isn't an anime and you got overly agressive over someone pointing that out casually to you.

And by the way, it doesn't matter which program you used, the fact is it is downloaded, and as Phade states as Rule 2 in the forum rules:

Rofl. The #1 video on top 10% uses downloaded footage. Fuck that rule.
