Ominae Will Die Another Day (my ACen video)

Post by Brakus » Fri May 27, 2005 1:23 pm

My ACen video received a mildly enthusiastic response (at least on Sunday during the Main Events showing of the contest). It helped that the display was a little better (slightly brighter) than the display in the AMV room. Even though I didn't win, it was a good contest. Rozard's "WHO SENT YA~?!" video was major kickass, and well-deserved of its award.

"Ominae Will Die Another Day"
Audio: "Die Another Day" by Madonna, from the Die Another Day OST and the album American Life
Video: Spriggan

This video highlights the first 3rd of the film, as it were, up to Ominae's battle with Fattman. I had a nice way of going from the chase scene in Istanbul to the Fattman/Little Boy battle, and then back to the chase scene in Istanbul, which sort of explains why I ended the video in the way that I did. It's definitely much more of an action-driven video than A.S. was.

The video was inspired mostly by two people, as you'll see at the very end during the credits:

-- VicBond007, for his Noir tribute two years ago.... and his hard-to-imitate style of action videos. At no point however did I try to make my video look like his (hee), so don't say I was trying to rip him off :) He is a fine editor, and I've enjoyed his work immensely.

-- Chris Patton, for his portrayal of the lead role in that anime I used. He himself has said this was his vocal boot camp, his "foley boot camp" as it were. For someone to take several days of doing nothing but grunts and screams and still have voice left -- that's amazing.

Enjoy!
