Would you continue a amv if someone else had did the idea?
This recently happened to me I got the idea to use a song and anime and after I had started the project I stupidly looked to see if anyone else had used the song and someone had to the same anime and its a pretty famous video creator around here.If this happened to you would you continue your video or stop it.

Do you like the other vid? Would watching that vid satisfy your interest in seeing the combination? If not, make your own vid.
Or...don't watch that one and make your own. Then, if you get bored, you can always watch both. And you'll know you have one you like since you'll have made it yourself for your own enjoyment.

Well I hadn't decided if it was better to stop since I figured out or keep going.I decided if I kept going I wouldn't watch the video and I havn't but there still the thought in my mind there will be people saying I copied that video.

There probably will be comparisons - assuming the other vid is very well known and you get a lot of attention on your video - then people who've seen both may bring up the other one. But if you haven't watched it, there shouldn't be much chance of them accusing you of copying. They might think you got the combination from the other vid, but what's inside should be mostly different - especially if you haven't watched the other vid. If you want to avoid comparison, your best bet is to watch the other one and go out of your way to make sure you don't match any of the scenes to the same lyrics in your vid. But that could really screw up your plans for your video.
Depends on why you're making it. If you want people to watch and like it and remember you as the creator, you want to make the best vid to that combination. Otherwise, only those who've seen yours and not the other one will prefer yours. If you're interested because you don't think anyone else will make the vid the way you have in mind, then there's nothing to worry about. It should be original enough (despite the combination) that people with similar taste to your own will appreciate it the same way you do.
Just figure out your motives - 'competition' or 'just because you want to'.

Yup, it's happened to me. I thought of making an Onegai Teacher video with Dashboard Confessional's Hands Down, then checked and saw that norskotaku had already done such a video. And upon watching it, I found that his approach to the video was very similar to what I'd envisioned in my head.
I can't say that I was completely satisfied with his version, but it was good enough to decrease my motivation for making my own. Mainly because I wouldn't want to go out of my way to make things different. xP

I may or may not start one that someone else did, I normallyw atch them first since I don't want to be accused of plagerism or if my concept was actually used beforehand. But that wouldn't stop me from making a video I am allready working on, that would be a waste of the time and effort put into it.

Basically, what it comes down to is this : can you do a better job ? That might be hard to tell, being that you've never watched the video, but the scores may give you a rough idea of exactly what you're dealing with. Your version is bound to be compared to the original at some point in time, and unless yours is equal to or above that skill level, you might be criticized. That's how I'd decide, anyhow.
