How do I get the video from an anime DVD to my computer??? What hardware do I need???

Step #2: Anything in particular you don;t understand in the guide after reading it, ask specific questions in the Video software or hardware Help forums and people will be glad to help you.

If I am misinterpreting your question and you are realy asking what software you need to RIP the DVD, then I suggest getting DVD Decryptor. Or just get the AMVApp also linked in the guides with has everything you would need all in one nice little package. (Including Decryptor)
