One Piece Premiere on Fox

I've been working on the One Piece mangas (sporadically) for awhile now, so I was anxious to see the show when it did it's American broadcast premiere today.

Uuummmmm...................................

What is wrong with that first episode? It's like they hacked together the first few issues or so into a Franken-Piece. I'm confused.

I haven't watched the newly released 4kids version yet, though I've seen most of One Piece subbed and have read the first manga. I know in the anime it starts off with the Bunty woman and Luffy in the barrell--did they start it differently in the dub? The original anime skips Luffy as a kid with shanks and focuses on it in a episode as a flashback. Don't know if that's what's confusing you. Like I said, didn't get to see the premiere episode on tv...
