How much do you like editing?

Post by kingmob_867 » Sun Jul 11, 2004 10:14 pm

Personally I love making Amv's so much that I wsih could edit/produce TV shows or videos for MTV and maybe even movies. I trying to go college so I can take the Visual Communications/Media Studies course. How about you? Is making AMV's just a hobby or is it a prelude to something else?

Hey, making music videos is great fun, in fact, I just got done working on one of my first (which will be my first uploaded AMV here). But MTV sucks anymore, they are not worthy to touch any AMV here.

I'd say Beowulf summed it up pretty well.

I have a question. But first I must explain the situation. I have 4 Outlaw Star episodes in which to work with for a music video. The problem is that they are subbed. My question is: would my AMV look all that terrible with the subs in it? I hate the fact that they are there, but as of right now have no choice but to stick with it. Should I even bother uploading it yet or should I just get the un-subbed versions first?

Most people hate subtitles since they're usually a sign of poor quality downloaded footage. If you can't crop them out, putting up the video is pretty much a guarantee of negative responses or no response at all. Get the dvds. I've only found a few dvds with hard subs (aka legally produced dvds in the US but made by stupid people who stuck the subs where you have to cut them to remove them). I'm fairly sure you can buy Outlaw Star on dvd - english if you have to - without subs to worry about.

[Don't use downloaded footage - if you do, don't talk about it - and read the 'forum specific rules' in the 'site announcement' section if you haven't already. >.> ]

OH YEAH! How am I gonna find the Outlaw Star DVD (without ordering online)? There has got to be some mainstream store that sells this stuff.(and if anybody says blockbuster i will be forced to sue you for your soul)
