Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

That's opinion, silly. Now it's fine to talk about video or sound quality. But taste in anime and music really shouldn't count toward the video's quality. I understand you may not be that serious when you say that, but still...

I know. But really it doesn't have to do with taste in music or anime (although in this case it also does). It's just one of those things that irks many people - seeing the same damn song and anime used over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. (wait I missed one, over).

Granted I have seem many iterations and a few I liked and saved of both this song/band and EVA. I'm just trying to remind people there are more choices out there than EVANGELION and whatever mainstream band is currently on the airways.

I'll dwl the video and (tolerate) watching it when I get home tonight.

well you have to give him/her credit that "Going under" isn;t quite as overused as others... *cough* Bring me to life *cough*
incidentally I have yet to see a vid to this song by her, and I actually do like this song, SO I will check out your vid, and let you know what I think. Before that though, I have some ops i need to take care off for my free op thread.

Ok, regardless of my bias for the music and anime I think this is a very good video for your first (real) attempt. The editing style is very simple and flows wonderfully, opting mostly for simple overlays and cross fading transitions. The only problems I see are scanlines and probably too much use of overlays. It would have been better to stick with more cross fading transitions or simple jump cuts (especially with that hard crunching guitar riff).

Overally, not bad. I liked it. It's probably the most conservative Asuka video I've seen to date.

Well first off thank you for your comments :)

now to get a few thigns out of the way or to make them clear :?

First off the reason why I picked Eva is because I have no other good animes.... either because they are sub'd or really poor quality. in fact I don't know if I even have another anime that is either of the 2 and I very much liked that action scene also :)

second the reason why I picked the song is 1. I like it... plain and simple.. 2 I couldn't think of any better ones that I have to put to Eva... 3. it sorda suited the mood of the video I wanted to make.

Rubyeye: I'm not sure what you mean by conservative :?:
Also I was hoping this song wasn't the one that was on the Radio as I havn't heard it on the Radio as of yet.
the reason why I had so much blending in the Video is so that if you watch it 5 times... you can pick something new out everytime and not see everything the first time around... makes it more interesting for re-watching. and I got abit happy on that since I just learned how to :P   (like I said first real one.. I have never really done much video editing till now.
Last off thank you for watching and telling me what you think :)

OOhh haha and one more things I forgot to mention.. with that much over laying and such I was actually litterally running out of video to use that was suitable for that video. :( ..

I might have actually had put a somewhat complex and neat combo to thar nifty guitar rift if I have alot more film to take from but I generally tried to only take Asuka and her Eva.. and I only have that ep to take it from

So ya... I ran out of video.. I actually in the end had to take a few shots of Shinji, his father, and Misatu (not sure if all the spelling is right) and then the whole end I took from the second half of "the end" which I was hoping not to do but had no choice :(

"Conservative" ... as in "simple", no pretentiously abundant special effects or bizzare/unique techniques like split screens, color inversions, or layer masks.
