AMV...Fans In, Like, REAL LIFE!?

Post by )v(ajin Koji » Sun Mar 28, 2004 2:13 pm

I was at school on friday just about to go home and these two guys came up to me and said.

"Hey your anime music things are great!"
"Yeah really good, mate!"

I was a little flabbergasted (sp?) and said thanks and had a little chat and went on my way. It kinda tied up the end on a great week.

I was just wondering how many other people have had this kind of thing happen to them-well I know one other has BUT...
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

People I know in real life (mostly my friends) like my videos, naturally. Adam Ferarro (ConChair of Anime Boston) recognized me at Otakon and commented. Haven't had any random fans, though. I think VicBond told a story once about how he was eating lunch in some restaurant across the street from Katsucon and some random fangirl came up to him...

A guy I know from high school came up to me in Safeway when I was visiting my hometown this week and chatted with me for a bit. He asked if I was still making music videos and mentioned that he and his other friends can't stop watching Quahog Kombat.

They'll never let me live it down.

Lol, some of my friends who have seen it think my AMVs are cool-i've even impressed the odd girl before.

However, most people don't seem to really care :¬ P

When Anneke and I were at Shoujocon passing out CDs, the coordinators of the AMV contest recognized the names on the CDs and gave us both huge hugs of support. At Katsucon I saw iserlohn and he was with a friend who had seen my videos and apparently saw a picture of me in my LJ so recognized me. It's a lot of fun to see random fans who enjoy your videos, but I mainly keep my videos to my friends, family, and myself. If someone can get enjoyment out of them though that's great ^_^

This happened quite a few times. Some people in my high school (when I was still in high school of course) that I didn't know came up to me a couple times. Quite a few people in my university have also come up to me before saying are you the guy who made that Cowboy bebop video. It's weird, AMVs are becoming really really big now.
