While I was at work, I was thinking about more AMV stuff. Out of nowhere, it hit me! The ULTIMATE Evangelion comedy AMVs! Picture if you will...
A tribute to Misato's drunken/partying state, using the following:
Song: One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
Artist: George Thorogood & The Destroyers
or...
An Asuka/Shinji rivalry AMV, using:
Song: Move it on Over
Artist: George Thorogood & The Destroyers
Obviously, I'm running on way too much George Thorogood, but it's great classic rock.
Another funny idea...
A tribute to "the fashion of Evangelion" (for all those pathetic fan girls who swoon over Kaji), using:
Song: Sharp Dressed Man
Artist: ZZ Top
Yet another pathetic idea...
A tribute to all the Rei Ayanami's and Kaoru Nagisa:
Song: The Real Slim Shady
Artist: Well, if you don't know this one, I can't help you.
On a side note: I recommend anyone to tackle the last idea, because I hate rap music, and there's no way I'd touch an Eminem album with a ten foot pole. However, I'd check out the completed video just for kicks.

I honestly see that as more of a multianime anime project.Toecutter wrote:A tribute to Misato's drunken/partying state, using the following:

Hmm, some pretty good ideas in there. I had one in mind of Eva to Weird Al's "The Saga Begins", but it's just a little too close in concept to Brad Demoss' Phantom Menace trailer, so I really don't think I'll use it.
I'm about halfway through my current video (Evangelion to a crack-happy jazzy song from the One Piece soundtrack), but the first attempt I ever made at editing (read: "how do I use Premiere" venture) was Eva to Weird Al's "The Night Santa Went Crazy." If anyone here actually wants to see this video, I can remaster it now that I have Death and Rebirth and End of Eva on DVD.

I'm glad you like the Rei Ayanami "The Real Slim Shady" idea. I was thinking about the review epsisode when they test the cross-compatibility of the pilots to the other Evas (episode 14, I think), and Rei is doing the whole flaky '60s beatnick poetry crap. I saw the whole line of Rei's, and remember seeing the tank sequence with the dummy plug Rei's (yep, I watched End of Eva, but haven't completed the series yet), and thought "That would work perfectly with The Real Slim Shady".
You could also have so much fun with footage of Asuka flying off the handle in her typical mood swings with the references to "sitting next to Christina Aguillera" in The Real Slim Shady. Will the real First Child please stand up?
