Hi everyone, i wanted to share this new AMV i made

its been about a year since i got back into AMV making and its been tough! I forgot a lot and tried to learn to use some editing features from iMovie. Hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think!

I didn't recognize your name at first, but this video definitely reminded me of the Land of the Lustrous AMV that you made last year, so congratulations, you have a recognizable aesthetic!
I actually like this one a little more, the editing just feels tighter, generally speaking. I still get the sense that a lot of these cuts are just kind of happening independently of the beat, but you're still matching the intensity of the song really well. You have a really good eye for picking interesting looking scenes that really pulled me into the video (I love how backgrounds and environments are so prevalently used in the opening minute or so and how the rest of the video is more focused on characters and very dramatic scenes, this is an effective structure for drawing in viewers' attention and easing in anyone who's come along for the ride but really has no idea what they're watching) and I love your use of repetition (maybe that's not the best word for me to use here, but how you take a single shot and cut to it several times in quick succession, this is cool and I love how you consistently do it but never run it into the ground, either).
It seems to me like Made In Abyss AMVs often follow a certain structure, one of telling a story, trying to weave together the main plot and the subplot focused on Nanachi--even some of my favorite MiA AMVs do this, not saying it's inherently a bad thing--so I like that there was little attempt to follow that blueprint here. I love the effort you put into this, how you're really pulling clips from all over the series and not just arranging everything together in a chronological order. I suppose there's nothing necessarily good about that, but I appreciate it when I see it and just love to see editors lean into the collage-style of editing as hard as you did here. Some viewers might come away thinking this is overly "random" or something like that, but I think it's very fitting for the style of song that you used here.
