Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi (ERASED) - On my own

Post by Toothie » Sun Apr 10, 2016 8:40 am

I just recently finished Boku dake ga Inai Machi and I have to say that it was amazing. For a 12 episode show, I got a lot more than expected. I also loved it a lot more than expected.
I also recently finished reading the manga, and love it even more (since a bit more events happen)

I haven't made an AMV in a long time, and decided to make one for this anime. It's rather rushed, and the song may seem familiar to others if you've watched Tokyo Ghoul. The song fit the anime very well, it was hard not to use.

Be warned, there's spoilers - so if you haven't read/watched the show yet and planning to, I'd advice you not to watch it (unless you don't mind the spoilers)

Best watched in HD:

If video above doesn't load or show up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u0FRQXRHl4

There are a few obvious bugs and minor errors, but that's because I had to render this about 4 times, since Vegas always changes the video a bit after rendering. But it should be fine now!

I'd love to hear some feedback, and what I could improve on (since I may consider making more AMV's in the future, and I'd love to know what I can do to make them even better!)

Welcome to the Org! The rules of announcing videos here actually do require you to catalog your video first. So please do that as soon as possible :D . If you don't know how, here is the FAQ post about it http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 2#p1546652

Also, Youtube blocked streaming for your video in the United States. If you want to upload your video to the org's local servers and use its streaming option, the FAQ that I linked also shows you how to do that. And since your AMV isn't cataloged on the org's site either, I moved this tread to the General Discussion forum. I can move it back to the AMV Announcement forum when it gets cataloged :D

Apologies... I had no idea this was blocked in a country.
I tried doing that, but I keep getting this:

Before you can add a link, you must have the following entered:
Anime listed for the video.
Music listed for the video.
A premiere date in the past.
Once you correct all of these that are in error, you can then add links to the video.

I've entered and checked everything, and done it about 11 times, and still getting this...
And by 'catalogging' this, will the video not play on a YouTube player? (Like, it wouldn't gain any views?)

I see that the youtube link is no longer blocked :awesome: . I think that your video had a lot of really good parts that were edited pretty nicely, but the text in the middle of the screen was a major distraction and kinda ruined a lot of of. If you have a version of the video without the text, I think that it would be a lot more enjoyable to watch. I also think that the slide/ push transitions that you kept using weren't really a good choice. But like I said before, underneath the text, I could still see that you did a nice job at editing this and showing the mood of the anime. The Japanese song and the audio dialogue actually makes it feel like something that would be in the series finale

Be sure to click all the way through each section to the very end of where you enter that information. Even if you're not part of a studio, even if you made the video by yourself with no collaborators, even if you're not entering it in any conventions or contests, click through each of those sections until you get to the very end and then click on "finish" or "save changes" or whatever it is. If you don't, then I don't think it will actually save anything you've entered and you still won't have a finished entry. Give that a try!
