  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Revenge for Yesterday

Hello : ). I made this AMV for a Dutch contest, AnimeCon. I went for three full days and had alot of fun. The amv compo went well, for the exception that the voting boxes stopped working after my vid, and people (editor and public) could type in the score only after 5 minutes. So I think my scores will be a bit messed up and unreliable now anyway. Besides that, the con was good and I enjoyed it.

In actual fact had alot of fun making this video. This anime aired in 2005 to 2006, and there are no blu-ray releases or stuff like that. Despite that, I found some reasonable quality. When I first started editing two/three years ago I really wanted to edit with my favorite anime, but because all of the footage I found was bad quality, I never really did. So finding this quality was already reason to make an amv with it. I feel like I made a sort of oldschool action amv. I hope you enjoy ^_^. And yay for my first banner ever xD.

Please note: I wont upload the video to the org yet. I dont have time (or the computer) to convert it now. My zarx is messing up the timing, making it completely off-sync. So what is on YouTube now is a convertion from ASG, which made the quality less. I will have a better, and higher contrast upload in two weeks.

^^ well, here it comes:
I don't know the series.

Overall quite excellent edited,
I like the smooth zoom and fade transitions, pretty nice done, there's one I don't like, or well, it went so smooth in the beginning that the end seems off: at 1:45, yes, it kinda fits with the music, I just dislike it :p

Pacing throughout the whole amv is really good. The scene selection is sometimes weird, maybe because I don't know the anime, but what's up with the cat at 0:19 and the newspaper at 0:42, the cat yet again at 0:46 and actually a few of those scenes after that are quite... off compared to the "action" part of the music.

Solid work! keep it up! See you at the next con ^.-
Finally complete and up-to-date:

Hey Imp :).
Thank you, I really tried to make it flow and keep it up at a good pace, so Im glad you liked it. At 1:45, I dont think it looks weird, but thank you anyway for pointing it out. Maybe it is because the scene before it zoomed it slower than the scene you mention.

Ah yes well, I followed the storyline of the anime itself. The girl that dies, Saya, went to a festival but got murdered there. But before that, on the festival, she won that black cat doll. After she dies, the men fight, and there is an explosion, hence the newspaper. The blonde girl, Eve, finds Train, our main character and she also finds the doll (it wa a little bit different in the anime, but thats too complicated and I didnt put it in the AMV xD). The day after, Train wakes up and he gets the black cat doll that Saya won. The only thing he wants is revenge for her death, which are the action parts. I kinda wanted to use Eve in the amv too, because she also fits the lyrics.

I can understand that the storyline was unclear too you. Maybe I put too much in xD. But thank you for your feedback :).
See you at the next con ^^!! Abunai deadline is not far away o_0.
