Seven Nation Eva Project (EoE)

Post by Cyrix » Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:32 am

Fun fact: The Mass Production Eva series was a joint project between seven nations.
Some of the lyrics are less relevant, but I think we can all agree Asuka is going the hell to Wichita

I've been using After Effects for a bit but this is the first AMV I really utilized it in. I think it came out well. Enjoy, and constructive criticism appreciated.

I was about to say the title of the video sounded rather cheap but this actually made me change my mind.

Especially in Germany, this is one of the most overplayed songs of all time but I still like it anyway. It was nice to hear a different version of it though and it was certainly one that suits the mood of EVA better than the original.

Yet, I couldn't really get into the video. I wasn't...feeling it, you know? I felt that it was just floating by and was especially missing some more obvious varying editing for the different parts of the song.

But then again, I was already turned off by the beginning...when the video already seemed to have started when the song was just in the intro...

Sorry, but I didn't like it.

Do you think you could explain in more detail what you mean? The music and video start at the same time; if you mean the pace, I tried to match them (Asuka stands up when the drums start and starts fighting back when the vocals start) but maybe I could have done it better.

Well, it's the pace. While the very first scene seemed to match, the others seemed to be unfitting (all the explosions, shooting, etc.) which kind of ruined it for me. These were too strong for an introduction. There is also missing some kind of tighter transition. I would have liked to see the pace keep up at the point when the vocal kick in, yet it was too similiar to the earlier part (which happened quite a few times in the video)
