Entered this is a contest recently, the second amv I've ever uploaded here.
This will probably be my last amv for a long time as I am joining the navy.

I liked it in the capacity that I'm a Code Geass fanboy. Editing wise, it had a few things that I didn't care for [overkilled overlays and some effects that I didn't care for, I went into more detail in the opinion I left you], but I liked it for the most part. You had some really nice pacing/sync, but they just sort of went away here and there for effects/overlays.

I did really like the ending battle scenes though. That was well composed.

. I realize the overlays were too aggressive vs some of the other scenes, and some of it is a cluster**** even in my eyes 3_3. I admittedly got lazy during some of the battle scenes as I was editing while I was sick. I am still a novice concerning effects/customization, but I think I also need to cut down on effects XD. My drawing teacher told me I often overwork things....I think this applies here as well.

There're too much effects and overlays. I think you should focus more on making simplier things, i'm pretty sure you'll get a better results because you have a good sense of how manage the pace of your vid.

I do have a simpler video that I never announced(made in 2010).

The problem was I felt it was a bit too simple. So I ended up going overboard on the recent one. XD

Hahaha.
Yeah, there some big issue in this vid, like the logo, some subtitle, and it seems interlaced. There's too much overlays again, but at least there's not that overload of effects. And transitions were weird. xD
But you should seriously try to make something simple, just with rough cut, no effect or weird transitions and a nice story !

In terms of the Code Geass video, I LOVED IT! You readdly did a awesome job at editing it. Although, It would have been so much better if you had been more conservative with your effects (especially the ones that changed the color and contrast).

In terms of the Ga Rei Zero video, I think that its simplicity isn't the problem. I n fact, I think that you could have made it a little simpler and taken out the few effects that you did use. The main problem with that video is that you do enough syncing to the song. And the dialog that you added was more of a distraction than a plot element.

I gotta say this though. You made a awesome improvement with those 2 videos. I really am curious to see what you do next
