I didn't watch the second one for fear of spoiling myself, but I've got comments on the first one.
#1. I love you for using Les Mis, honest to God. And from the 25th Anniversary concert too! (I believe that's Ramin Karimloo's Enjolras at the start?)
So, you've sold me on the song choice already. xD
#2. As for the editing itself, it seemed a little slow. Also you reused a number of clips where I saw many other opportunities to put in other clips. It also would've been better if you strayed from Kamina a little bit and even put a little bit of focus onto the final battle sequence in the last few episodes of Gurren Lagann. Kamina wasn't the only leader of Dai Gurren, y'know?
Generally it was pretty nice, but could've been better. I was hoping that I could feel that swell of pride with such an awesome song, but the editing needed to be stepped up a little for that feeling.
