oh, shit, i already saw this combo done extremely well. i think i kinda liked one of your other vids, so i'm a little scared to watch this so i don't have to hate you

-watches anyway-

EDIT: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghh....................................ghh.................crap.

well first off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dT1eDMiVgE

now that that's over, i just have to say, i really hope you haven't seen that, then i can excuse the reason i'm really writing this on a count of naivety.

To start, then, the title is eehhh... The point of TTGL is that there is like no end to it all. In the end they're committed to eternal progress and evolution and stuff. Also, the main line of the song, "We'll Carry On," is just saying, "we'll continue," not, "we'll make it to the end," so the title contradicts the source and the song, but that's really no big deal.

I'm sorry to say this video really disappointed me. I really freakin' love the song, the anime, and (because of the video i linked) the combination, too, but despite all that i'm pretty sure i would have been disappointed with or without the other video (we'll just call that WCO) but at least without WCO i could have admired the song choice because it really is a great combination.

If you've seen TTGL, then i'm going to assume your objective with this video was to reproduce the awesome, epic, gigantic feel of Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagann, and if it wasn't well then that's the main problem right there, but for now, i'm going with that assumption.
The main problem i have with this video is that it never achieved that goal. It never got close to it by virtue of your editing. The only reason is made the tiniest bit of progress in that direction is because you put TTGL clips to this song. The same thing could be achieved, maybe even better by playing the last fight of TTGL muted and putting "Welcome to the Black Parade" on itunes.

The clip choice throughout the entire video felt uninspired. None of the clips felt particularly special for the part you used them for. The majority of this video (like a lot of other TTGL videos) was fighting, for which any of the scene selections could have been switched out with any other fighting scene in the video. An editor on his first video could have picked scenes for you and they would have had the same exact effect. This isn't necessarily your fault; TTGL seems made to edit like that, but i'm just pointing out that the best parts of the video only need a small amount of effort to duplicate. Also, the lipsync, was EXTREMELY CHEESY. It was pretty good as far as lipsync goes, but it was horrible for the vid...Probably the absolute worst part to be honest. It made for embarrassingly literal scene selection to boot.

Speaking of duplicating, 90% of the video felt like a counterfeit version of Soup's TTGL edits. The very best parts of this video looked like a copy/paste of some of soup's worst. The fact that it was worse was mostly due to nooby errors that you just have to work off with experience it seems like. Soup's crossfading and technique were like this when i first noticed him using it, too, so it's probably just inexperience on your part. Trying to be soup wasn't the only thing wrong with the editing though, sorry to say. When you got off of the cross fading and soft masks, the dynamics and impact that this song and anime call exclusively for is completely absent. The way you placed the cuts is just boring and dull. It really feels like i'm scrubbing through fight scenes to find which clip i wanna use while listening to music. I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record by saying this, but there was zero impact. You probably took away impact by editing it. Like i said: muted TTGL with WTTBP on my ipod.

This video is one of my least favorites to come out in a very long time. That's not because it's edited the worst, or because i dislike the sources, or any of that. If you had placed the SFW scenes from a really bad hentai onto some stupid britney spears cover or something, it would not make me as mad as this, simply because this combination has so much potential. WCO isn't even near perfect. There are quite a few things that i take issue with in that video, too, most notably the weird effects in the intro of the song. There is room for improvement on that video and so when I saw what sources you used i had a bit of hope and the fact that you took it away and crushed it made me a bit more upset than if you had just made a bad video, because everyone does that once in while. So that's the only reason i wrote this long review, it's not like the amount of text is proportional to how bad the video is.

Well, take care, hope to see a good video from you soon!

Edit #2: watching both WCO and your vid I see that your video actually has a lot of influence from WCO SO NOW I hate this video a lot more

uhh im very thankful for that comment man, really i see you didn't liked the video and thats okey... I did not give my 100% here and i cant for the moment, just not enough time.
I think its okey that some people think this video is awful or just a copy of that old wttbp video you mention.
But on the otherside i have to say that i never tryed to copy someone, soup or someone else, really. I just edited how i felt like so if it looked like ''soup's worst editing'' then i guess im sorry because i don't like doing stuff like that.
Actually this video was done just for myself because this is my fav song and my fav anime so i had much fun editing it, sorry that it turned out shitty for you.
thank for you comment.
