Break The Butterfly

Post by Mister-A » Tue Sep 06, 2011 8:19 am

My Entry for a AMV Contest @ AniNite '11 (A Convention in Austria :P).

This is actually my very first post in this forum, so I hope I'm doing it right... XD
What can I say about my video... well it's action-based with some effects, beat-hitting... uh, it doesn't really have a real story, but you can always use your imagination and create your own interpretation of it ^^

I hope you enjoy it!

Note: This is the first time I used AMVApp, so the quality seems to be low :(.

Visual quality was kind of iffy. Which is a shame, because this has the potential to be gorgeous footage. But it wasn't so distracting that I couldn't enjoy it. I read about your issues with AMVApp, and I think you may have an outdated version or something, because I've never seen it do something like this before.

I thought it was a strange combination of anime, but it worked for the most part. The combination of the 3 seemed to be more or less for the action scenes, and I kind of wished you'd made a link between the three in the slow section at around 2:30. There was a link between Champloo and SOS, but not with Garden of Sinners.

I also kind of felt like some of the effects were needless and just there for the sake of being there.

It was pretty entertaining, and it had some pretty good pacing, and a generally good execution.

First of all, thank you for the comment! And yes, perhaps i did something wrong during the installation or my version is outdated, but I believe that I have the most recent one...

Anyways, I didn't intend to create a connection in the first place, but the ones during the slow part could be a hint to that! And yes, after my work was done, I figured that I should've added KnK as well.

Thanks again for this short constructive comment!

I think the effects you used when, say, you gave clips a neon wavering border, or when you zoomed out of them to put them into shapes were a little unnecessary, because for most of the action points in the AMV, it was similar to raw editing (which I thought worked very well with the song).
Overall, nice!
