They postponed it in just about every town around here because of the nearly 150,000 homes still without power in NH.

In other news, I spent most of yesterday getting all the parts I needed for a battery backup for my pellet stove so I could have heat. Came home, ready to start and the power had just come back on.

Want to punch one of my co-workers in the face >_o

She is one of those women who is constantly whining about how men are scum, yet at the same time she's searching for a new one on a dating website. She's always asking me advice about what to say to them, because god knows I'm the number one source for dating advice. But then she loves to add the whole "...but they can't play me like that. I'm not stupid! I'm 42 not 24! They have to treat me right because I ain't some stupid little young girl that they can pull one over on!"

Mhmm...Yup...I'm 21 :/ GTFO

In addition to her "special-ness" a couple of the other "more mature" females keep using the "18, just out of high school" example of what could be a poor employee. We've got a guy in our training class who is just out of high school, turned 18 and has been working at his family's fast food restaurant most of his life. He's a million times better on the phones than ANY of them. Seriously, I've listened in on him and the boy has got game.

For the most part everyone is awesome but there is always that select few that just make me facedesk.

Just followed up with the company I was supposed to interview with and they already filled the position. Typical.

At least my unemployment check came in the other day.

I bet she also wonders why she's still single. There's a line between wanting to be treated right, and being a demanding, uppity, annoying bitch. Sounds like she crossed that line and never looked back when she WAS 24, hence the being single and angry at 42.

Thanks for the support guys. It allowed me to be able to motivate myself enough to go through with it and actually sign up (even though I spent the next half hour pacing, teeth chattering, having issues keeping my hands from shaking and being able to walk correctly; I'm still a little shaky and my hands are cold but I've calmed down a lot now). I'll probably let things sit for a while to allow me to cool down and let others find me instead of reaching out myself, but at least it's a start.

/the only reason I'm posting it in Vent is because of the above discussion and because my feelings on it are still totally mixed.

Stupid Facebook is being a stupid facebook and keeps auto-deleting my status update for some reason...but whatever.

Anyways, horrible weather. White out warning. Slipped on the ice outside. Hit my head. Mild Concussion. Doing my best to stay awake. Being forced to stay home from work due to weather + concussion. While my job takes a holistic approach to attendance, I still feel like a terrible bum for calling out no matter the circumstances.

Today sucks.

How does getting a concussion make you a terrible bum? Oh, that's right, it doesn't. :p
It's fine, just rest. <3

:uhoh: Oh no, that really sucks!

Stay home and rest! Concussions, even mild ones, are nothing to take lightly. Yer not a terrible bum, you're injured. Rest and take it easy!

Ah man, and here I was praying we'd get more snow down here :( Hope you get better soon, I know just how crazy the snow's been getting around here on the western side, can't imagine what it's like up there (My sisters had snow halfway up their car up in FoCo.)

On another not-so-terrible-note-but-it-still-pisses-me-off, my dog just puked a crap load of bean soup she somehow got into on my bedroom's carpet. Had to clean it up, gagged so hard that I puked myself. My dad just wants to get rid of her, and though I'm sure as hell pissed, I think it's a bit extreme. I must say she's done a lot of stupid stuff and hasn't learned anything yet though (beyond being a kick-ass fetcher and sitting/laying down), even though she's a year old now. It's been so long since I've last had a lab though, I don't know when she's going to stop being such a dumbass.

I'm an idiot!

Back in mid September I was suppose to go to Airborne School, but while in-processing at the course, they told me I needed a waiver for my "impaired" hearing (documented in my medical records). So I wasn't able to make it into that class and since my unit was in Japan (and I pissed off my Sergeant Major) they never processed my waiver.

Because of this, I did not meet the prerequisites for the Civial Affairs course, which is being Airborne qualified. So while I was getting out-processed and waiting for my orders to report to a new unit (for over a month), the course ended up dropping the requirement for Airborne. So they have now reinstated me back into the course. Good news right?

It would be if I had kept up with my physical training!!! GRRRAAAAAAAAAH! I'm really kicking myself now, since I haven't done much training for about a month and let myself gain weight :nono: Now I have less than a week to lose 2 lbs, 5 lbs to be safe and get back up to par from the months of training I was doing for Airborne school!!!

Time for lots of running, rucking, and a crash diet :uhoh:
