...I'm not sure I really understand the question. If you enter the pro contest, it's for peer judging. If you don't want to participate in the peer judging, you'd do better to enter the expo (for one thing, the deadline is later).

So, get your video to us and send us the form and discs on time. If you can get the video to us on time, but not the form and discs, get the form and discs to us as quickly as possible and we'll work something out. If you can't get the video to us on time, then you've missed the deadline.

Um....yeah, you're kind of missing the point of even entering. Sounds like the only reason you want to submit to Pro instead of Expo is because it seems more "prestigious." If a lot of people had that attitude towards the contest, then it wouldn't be worth entering for anyone :?
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

No the difference between pro and expo that attracts me is the peer judging rather than the panel of judges judging. Thanks for trying to translate my words though lol you missed it by that much.

So... I hope this clears things up, and I ask again, can I just submit my video?

If your looking for a cheap BUT reliable burner to buy a couple off for this, I recomend Samsung DVD burners. They have proven their name in relaibility, though usually not the fastest performers. I have one and have not burned a single coaster since getting the drive, but some DVD players do have trouble playing DVDs burned at 16x (though they read fine in computers). So I recomend burning no higher than 8x or 12x if you do go that route.

I'd like to add I tested these drives on the following media: HP 8x, Verbatim 8x and 16x, Memorex 8x, and Philips 8x, oh and office max 4x.

Uh, yes?

We're still not clear if your asking something else on top of that. But, anyone can just submit their videos as long as they follow the rules outlined...

I think Knowname is asking if he can enter the contest, but not do any judging. In which case I guess you could, I just don't know why you would want the Pro contest.

sweet! I do hate to be a grinch, but, yes, I just don't wanna pay the 'entrance fee' of 6 dvds and 3 hours or so of my time ;p. And again, I want the peer judging (and not just the general audience, again, to weed out the retards)... but then.... maybe I'll just keep that part to myself  Thanks all ;o I'll see ya in the winners circle!

Um, you do know that expo isn't judged by the convention audience, right? None of our contests are judged at the convention.

I'm not altogether sure how I feel about this... no one's ever wanted to enter but not wanted to judge before. Is it fair to the other entries? What does everyone think?
